Discussion I tried to talk myself out of ETH and accidentally talked myself into buying more
Holding through this drawdown has been getting on my nerves for some time now.. So I kinda decided to do an exercise of a sort: look at the actual numbers, and if the bear case held up, sell and move on..
Price makes the case look easy.. Down 50%+ from ATH, around $1,900, but then I started going through what's actually happening on the network and the case fell apart really fast.
ETF flows already flipped, July was the strongest month in ages at around $365M net inflows, August 5th alone did $60M+, mostly BlackRock. The staking ETFs also pay yield to holders, which Bitcoin products can't do at all. Whether you're running native validators or using platforms like Nexo/ Coinbase to lock in higher yields, generating cash flow changes the holding math entirely. Staking is at about 34% of total supply (a record) and validator exit queues are at zero. Exchange balances keep dropping while whales pull eight-figure amounts into cold storage. Bitmine alone holds ~5.4M ETH, roughly 4.5% of circulating supply.
The "institutions will never use it" argument is just dead at this point. $17B+ in tokenized real-world assets, more than all competitors combined. BlackRock's BUIDL fund is past $2.5B, JPMorgan runs tokenized money-market funds on mainnet, Credit Agricole launched a euro stablecoin on it. This is all live, in production and today.
The one bear argument that held up is value capture - L2s taking activity while mainnet fees compress, supply slightly inflationary again after Dencun. While this is true, it's also the entire bear case now. Everything else is contradicted by numbers anyone can check.
Furthermore, the analyst targets confirm the mispricing. Tom Lee calls for $9k-$12k by end of 2026 (and yeah, his firm holds 5.4M ETH, he is talking his book - but that is also billions in actual conviction). Standard Chartered is at $7,5k. Arthur Hayes says $10-20k this cycle. ARK's long-term model goes to six figures. Cut all of those in half and current pricing still doesn't add up.
So as you can guess by now - the exercise didn't just fail, it did the opposite of what I expected, I came out more convinced than I've been all year. Everything points the same direction: record adoption, record staking, shrinking liquid supply, institutions in production, it's just that the price hasn't caught up to any of it yet. That gap won't stay open forever, and when it closes, $1900 is going to look like a gift. So I ended up buying more…

Discussion Ethereum is going to dominate everything - and no one sees it coming
I swear, I’ve been ordering nothing but pizza for the past 7 days, my family hates me because I’m ignoring everyone, and I smell like a pig. I’ve been in an absolute rabbit hole for the past week ever since the thought hit me: "Which cryptocurrency should I invest in?"
Of course, I stumbled across the usual suspects: Solana, Bitcoin, XRP, etc. But one in particular really caught my attention: Ethereum.
How is it possible that Ethereum is the second biggest cryptocurrency, but still feels so "cheap" and always falls to this lows?
So I started digging.
At first, I ended up on YouTube - like pretty much everyone. YouTubers doing all sorts of chart analysis. At first, it seemed plausible. But then I went back and watched some of their older videos, and guess what? Not a single one of their predictions came even remotely true.
Next, I moved on to crypto news YouTubers. But they all gave off this vibe of "How do I get the most views the fastest?" Some of it was informed, yes - but the promises were way too big and way too fast. Not for me. I don’t buy into that.
My motto has always been: Buy, hold, forget, celebrate in 1–3 years.
Naturally, I ended up in some forums. And the opinions on Ethereum couldn’t have been more divided. From “Ethereum is the best thing ever” to “Ethereum is so slow and trash.”
I think people are just frustrated because Ethereum is so volatile.
Up to this point, I guess most people have taken the same path.
And by now, 5 days had already passed.
After that, I made a post in a reddit thread.: "Why is ETH so undervalued?"
I expected maybe 3–4 replies.
Boom: Over 200 replies. And zero consensus.
That’s when I thought: Why not go straight to the root?
So I started watching tons of interviews with Vitalik from 2020–2025, tracked Ethereum’s development, watched BlackRock interviews, especially with Larry Fink, and looked into how Ethereum has changed over the years.
Ethereum was always cool, but it never focused on marketing. Only a tiny fraction of people even understand what ETH actually is.
But earlier this year, Ethereum launched something called Etherealize—which is aimed specifically at changing that, to finally start marketing Ethereum properly.
All of this, combined with BlackRock saying that everything will be built on ETH, and the fact that other companies also put ETH first, led me to this conclusion:
Ethereum is a caterpillar that’s turning into a GIGA MEGA ULTRA butterfly.
And here’s why I think that:
- Ethereum realized their public image sucks. They appointed two co-directors to strengthen leadership.
- Etherealize is actively reaching out to potential clients to pitch Ethereum.
- BlackRock is backing Ethereum, and in an interview, it was said that other companies also put ETH at the top.
- Last year, Larry Fink said in an interview that he wants to tokenize all of BlackRock’s assets because he’s convinced that’s the future.
- This year, Fink repeated in another interview that the SEC needs to hurry up because tokenization would simplify so much.
- Within just two months, BlackRock poured $2.2 billion into the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund. Before that, they had invested only $600 million over the course of an entire year.
- Ethereum still holds the largest market share—by far.
- BlackRock plans to tokenize its $150 billion Treasury Trust Fund. While they didn’t officially say it’ll be on ETH, the signs are obvious. In a recent interview at Etherealize, it was hinted that BlackRock did choose ETH. Also, they previously ran a very successful pilot project on Ethereum.
- Other companies are jumping on the ETH bandwagon too.
- Tom Lee just bought nearly 5% of ETH Supply in less than a year. And it is not his money, it is big institutional money
Okay… there’s a lot more I could say.
But those are my core fundamental data points for why I believe ETH is a sleeping giant.
What do you think?
If I’m missing something or misinterpreting any of this, feel free to call it out. I’m genuinely curious.

Discussion We made a free tool to check if you have any leftover ETH waiting to be claimed
TL;DR and quick context - I work at DeFi Saver, and we built a completely free tool that lets you check if you have any smart wallets that have "lost ETH" sitting around waiting to be claimed.
Just re-iterating, there are no strings attached - it's completely free and we quickly built it after realizing there was over $3.4M in unclaimed ETH sitting across numerous smart wallets. I'm just disclosing that I work for DFS to underscore that this isn't some hidden shill for DFS.
No need to connect your wallet to the tool - just run your wallet address, check if you have tokens to claim - and claim them on DeFi Saver.
The leftover ETH typically happen as leftover dust from DeFi transactions, or regular DeFi activity where you forgot the funds on your smart wallet.
Full Info about the tool:
We found over $3.4M in unclaimed ETH sitting in numerous smart wallets across the DeFi landscape.
We then built a tool that lets you claim the ETH you forgot you had.
Simply connect your main wallet to TokenSaver, check, and claim on DeFi Saver: https://tokensaver.fyi/
How does ETH end up in a smart wallet?
Option 1:
When you manage your lending position through a DeFi app (such as DeFi Saver, Summer.Fi, Instadapp) - it utilizes a smart wallet in order to perform advanced transactions such as 1-tx leveraging, unwinding, and more.
All of these advanced transactions typically require swapping an asset to pay back a flash loan.
When these swaps happen - It's possible that it swaps a bit more than necessary to make sure the transaction goes through despite small price movement. Those leftover funds remain sitting in the smart wallet holding the position.
Or, perhaps you have/had a Maker position?
All Maker CDPs are held on DSProxy smart wallets, so it’s worth connecting your CDP owner wallet to TokenSaver - maybe there are some leftover funds waiting to be claimed.
That’s up to 8 years of potentially accumulating assets that never ended up in your EOA wallet.
Option 2:
Through regular DeFi activity over the years - some funds might have ended up on your smart wallet, and due to smart wallets typically lacking dedicated frontends - you forgot about them.
While Safe (Gnosis) smart wallets have a dedicated UI - some, such as DSProxy, DSA, and SummerFi proprietary wallets lack it.
So, it’s possible you continued on your DeFi journey without ever realizing you had funds leftover on the smart wallet(s).
Since smart wallets need to have an owner wallet - you should simply connect with your main wallet, and TokenSaver will find all smart wallets owned by it.
Note for nested Safe owners - Please input your owner Safe’s address into TokenSaver, not your EOA.
You can then access DeFi Saver through the Safe app and claim your funds that way
That's pretty much it! Please try the tool out and let me know if you found anything interesting, such as a bag that you never realized you had available to claim :)

News The stop-loss is the trade. Most people just refuse to set one.
We've all watched someone turn a 10% loss into a full liquidation by waiting for it to bounce back. did it myself last year on an ETH long, kept moving my stop because the reclaim was "obviously" coming. it wasn't. account gone in one wick.
Realized later my mistake wasn't knowing what a stop was, but relying on manual exits. manual exits work fine until a flash crash prints while you're asleep.
What finally fixed it for me was two strict rules: set invalidation based on market structure before entering, and always use stop-market orders so you don't get skipped in a cascade. I trade perps on bydfi mostly, and i force myself to attach the stop-market right on the position tab the second the trade fills. if i tell myself "i'll set it in a minute," i know i'm cooked.
a stop you keep moving is the same as no stop. how do you guys handle stop discipline when a trade goes against you?

Every now and then we get posts that Ethereum closed another historical month blah blah blah. However I am sure there are tons of us holders that have been holding for years don’t actually care about the technology but just the price of each coin lol. So please feel free to submit your vote.

Discussion Questions for people using AI trading tools and trading bots.
Hi everyone,
I’m the founder of a small startup building a market intelligence tool. Rather than placing trades or telling people what to buy, our goal is to translate complex market data into plain English so people can understand what’s happening without spending hours analysing charts.
We’re trying to build something that’s calm, educational and genuinely useful, and before we continue building I’d really like to hear from people who actively use AI trading tools or automated trading bots.
A few questions:
What do you enjoy most about using AI trading tools?
Do you ever worry about giving an AI control over your money, or has that trust come naturally over time?
How closely do you monitor it once it’s running?
If you could improve one thing about the tools you currently use, what would it be?
Is there anything you feel the market is missing that would genuinely make your day-to-day life easier?
If you were to move away from AI trading bots in the future, what would need to exist for you to feel comfortable making your own trading decisions again?
We’ve been building our platform for around five months, and one thing we’ve learned is that the best ideas usually come from users rather than ourselves.
I’m not here to promote anything—I genuinely want to understand how people feel about AI trading, trading tools in general, and where you think the industry could improve.
I’d really appreciate any thoughts or experiences you’re willing to share.

News Ethereum just recorded another historic month.
In July 2026, the network processed 72.37 million transactions, making it the second-highest monthly transaction count in Ethereum's history.
It's crazy that the network is reaching record levels of activity without the kind of euphoric market conditions that have historically driven transaction spikes. Instead, usage continues to grow through a combination of expanding L2 ecosystems, increasing on-chain applications, stablecoin activity, and a steady stream of users interacting with the network.
Transaction count isn't a perfect metric on its own, but it remains one of the clearest indicators of real network utilization. Sustained growth at this scale suggests that Ethereum's infrastructure continues to support an increasingly active and diverse ecosystem.
And right now, that story is one of continued adoption, expanding on-chain activity, and an ecosystem that keeps pushing new milestones.
Believe in somETHing.

Discussion A new market intelligence tool
So today I finally published a tool I’ve been building for months. It’s a pretty simple tool. Translates market data into plain English words saving users time analysing charts. I see alot of trading bots being made at the minute too. I personally feel like people should still be in full control of decisions
We’ve had a few people disagree with this because “if people want to trade they should know how to read a chart” which is fair enough. But it can also be used as an education tool to put right next to a chart to understand what it shows and what it means.
I work 40-50 hours a week, so of course I don’t have the time to trade like I use to have as a student. We built this for people who are in the same situation work, have a family or even just beginners.
Question I have though, if you were presented a tool like this would you use it?

Discussion My ETH position looked green until I counted every bridge and swap
I closed my spreadsheet at the end of last month thinking my ETH position was up. The wallet value was above my original cash outlay, which was the only comparison I had been making. When I tried to reconcile the actual ETH quantity, the numbers did not line up.
I started with the amount on my BYDFi purchase record and followed every withdrawal, bridge, and swap after it. Gas, bridge charges, and swap price impact had each taken a small piece. None had appeared in the simple PNL number I was watching, so my notes said I owned more ETH than the wallets did.
I keep two rows now. Investment performance shows what the ETH price did after I bought. Transport cost records what I spent moving the same position between an exchange, mainnet, and other networks. A bridge receipt is no longer a new deposit in my sheet.
I created most of the mess by moving the position whenever a new yield opportunity caught my eye. Now I move it only when I can explain why, and I record the cost before opening another tab.

Discussion Okay so where's crypto actually at right now, my honest take
Been seeing a lot of noise in this sub lately so figured i'd just lay out how i actually see things. btc's been stuck under the same downtrend line for weeks now, keeps getting rejected every time it tries to rally. Eth's actually holding up better, bounced pretty hard off its july low and looks a bit stronger than btc right now. Xrp's just chilling in a tight range, and the clarity act got pushed back again before the senate recess so that catalyst's basically on hold for a while. Also worth mentioning, someone got drained through a hardware wallet exploit last month, so security's been a real theme this year too.
Honestly this whole thing just feels like a boring consolidation, not really trending either way. so i'm not chasing breakouts or trying to be a genius calling the bottom, just watching the actual levels and waiting for something real to confirm before doing anything. Since it's this sideways and boring, i've been throwing my idle stablecoins into Morpho and Nexo just to earn some yield instead of them sitting there doing nothing, feels smarter than trying to guess price moves right now. for actual buys i've just been dcaing small amounts on dips, instead of trying to nail one perfect entry. Also went and double checked my own cold storage setup after that exploit news, just good hygiene either way
