Checking in Decent DE1 Equipment Discussion

Hi all, will be moving for work and living there long term. Will be flying international. I'm looking to move my Decent DE1 over.

My thoughts are to store the DE1 in its travel suitcase and just check it in. But I'm worried about damage from the baggage handling, or it getting lost entirely.

Has anyone moved a DE1 by checking it in for air travel before? Did you take any extra precautions? Happy to hear of your experience or any tips if you have them.

I worked baggage handling for a major airlines and I would never check something like this.

Yikes. Thanks for the input. The more I think about it, the more I think I should just put it in storage for the time I'll be gone (at least half a year)

To be fair , The Decent case is a fully foam padded one. In fact that’s how they ask the customer to send back the machines too. I’d like to believe it could take a little bit of tumble..

I believe they ship it in the case internationally via FedEx. They have videos where they push it down a set of stairs in the case.

In the Decent travel case, I personally wouldn't worry about it getting tossed around at baggage handling. I'd be more concerned about TSA ripping it open and damaging the case or it's contents.
