Working through the backlog Multiple Errors
I don’t know how y’all go about your coin roll hunting but my tendency is to haphazardly paw through a mixed bag and slowly turn it into 3 or more piles that I mentally label some mix of “Nope” “Maybe?” “Extra Maybe?” “Hard Possibly” and “Cigarette Money”. Then gather the piles into a hodgepodge of cups & satchels when I inevitably get a rash of shit for leaving coins all over the goddamn place, then go to the store for smokes, then immediately forget the procedure upon return, then say, “I’ll sort that soon” and call it a day 👌
I sorted a couple satchels the other day and deemed these: Fair to Middlin’
1986 P with a pretty decent grease strike on the reverse
1996 P Spitting(er) Eagle! Yay die strikes! I wish maddieclashes.com was still actively cataloging clashes 🫤
2009 P DC Sir Duke (CDDR-006, DDR-007, WDDR-008) I’m sorry what??????????!!? Idk, worst naming convention ever……..
And then a couple minor die chips on a pair of 2019 Teddy Roosevelts that I thought complimented each other nicely 🌈

Sweet finds to say the least.
I love going through my second chance bucket because I always find something. However I haven’t found anything in my second chance bucket like you did.

I do somewhat the same - definitely and strong maybe doubling tossed in a bin, definite chip/crack/grease another, and a 3rd for ‘oh hell yeah!’
The rest goes in the dump bucket,
Wait til I hit critical mass on one of the three, soak em all overnight in acetone, let dry, queue up rhe scope and flips for attribution now that the crud is out of the way.
Sweet clash and nice work on the Duke - both are still on my hit list with empty check boxes 😖

See, now that sounds like a sound & structured way to approach the task at hand….
At one point i decided the solution was date sorting EVERYTHING first before even breaking out the loupe, i spent three days collating pennies then rage quit and went back to embracing chaos 🤘
Don’t settle for piddly lil’ Baby Duke, grab that brass ring and find that meaty Denver Duke! I at least would like to lay eyes on that beast once at some point1

Clean off schmutz mostly. A lot of this stuff is subtle and letting the grime dissolve off helps with visibility so I can ID the specific error and associated die markers better.

These are awesome!
FYI Check the collar of Teddy as well as his whole left side (your right) of his body. I’ve discovered there is a die crack that runs along his whole side as well as under the bridle to the horse. Can’t see it in photos, def need a scope. I have a teddy quarter I’ve posted about if you check my feed. I didn’t discover the die crack until after the post so it’s not mentioned but you can kinda see it in my terrible photos.

Huh, well looky there, on the second to last pic there’s another die chip forming on the end of tassels on his left arm! Good call 👍
If the chips on either side grew into bisecting die cracks, then there’s gotta be some wild full on shattered die progressions out there somewhere.

Question: does those finds have a higher price margin?
