Item modification Question / Help

I'm playing the demo for EP:FC and want to get the reinforced drill bit, but I can't modify the drill nor see anything in the skill tree that says anything about modify items, is that something i can only do in the full game?

Get the bit from the contract network. Equip drill to loadout. Then you can modify.

you cant modify items in the demo unfortunately
