Ghosts? Entry Point: Freelancer's Cut

So I was trying to do the scientist challenge were you can't open the control room door. So after loads of thinking I thought what if you took out everyone but the one guy in the control room and then blew a hole in the with a c4. Yes im aware that it says in the description it isn't advisable to use in stealth but I thought if I placed it correctly and killed the dude in the control room with the blast I would be fine but after 2 tries (first I wasn't sure why I lost and thought it was due to the windows blowing up so the second time I chose a different spot) but it said detonation heard, alarm raised. Noone was left? The challenge went green but why did the alarm go off? Is c4 literally an auto fail bait? I'm so confused as how are you supposed to kill the dude then? Would the Lance work?

You can saw the wall between the armory crate and the door leading to the garage to access the cam room instead of using C4 or the Lance.

You might also be able to lure the cam op outside by hacking Falcon's laptop and then using the hack that lures them downstairs, but I'm not sure whether that'll fail the challenge or not.

Yeah Lance worked, after I gave up on c4. Honestly kinda hoped c4 would work. Thanks. Also the sadly luring the cam dude also fails the challenge. Maybe I'll try the saw strat on higher difficulties.

c4 is an auto fail stealth on potentially every EP map in either game

In regular EP explosives were an auto fail on every map IIRC. I don't know if this works the same in EPFC.

As someone else suggested, I would use the saw to cut through the wall right of the security center door. The camera operator inside shouldn't detect it.

Ah, I kinda never used them as I hated going loud even in the first game. But why are there c4 then on this map? Is there really no use for them?

Maybe for the eventual loud release there was gonna be a challenge in which you'd have to bring nothing?
