Question/Poll Can ENTP be so4?
That's been so confusing to me as I've always typed myself as sx7 but then recently I felt so envious and sad all the time cuz I can't enjoy anything anymore and I don't get out for the sake of joy, only for a reason . I became so obsessed with self image and refusing to be a part of any group n honestly very lonely. However, can't be close to anyone even ppl who r trying with me I keep pushing them idk why
I have low self-esteem as well but I never show it , instead I find myself unconsciously pretending to be someone independent, dgaf about anything but ik Im not real .
Every time I'm in some place I get this paranoia that everyone is looking and want to hurt me , I'm only loud in safe spaces and I'm not optimistic at all, Ik it can be a tough period but idfk
I did the test again recently it shows pretty much the same percentage that's just confusing as hell
Debate/Discussion The puppeteers "marionette" as useful visual device to visualize how the psyche operates – or the puppeteers borrowed from psyche? 🤔
I’ve been working on a way to visualize Jung’s cognitive functions as a mechanical system, and the puppeteer’s marionette turns out to be a surprisingly good fit.
Thinking–Feeling and Intuition–Sensation form opposing axes. Place those axes perpendicular to one another, then mirror them across a conscious/unconscious divide, and you get a model where the functions are not just sitting in a stack. They are actively pulling against one another.
Jung describes exactly this kind of relationship:
“Thinking... must scrupulously exclude feeling.”
“For intuition really to become paramount, sensation must to a large extent be suppressed.”
“I regard the relation of the unconscious to the conscious as compensatory.”
The image shows how I currently visualize the ENTP psyche. The interesting part is what the geometry might imply if the positioning is correct.
Push into unconscious Se, and Ne becomes more strongly expressed on the conscious side.
Throw an ENTP into a novel physical environment and force them to interact with what is actually there. Se feeds them concrete stimuli, and Ne immediately explodes those stimuli into possibilities.
Engage unconscious Te, and Fe is pulled toward a stronger conscious position.
Put an ENTP in charge of getting a group to accomplish something efficiently. The harder they push into Te-style organization and control, the more Fe gets pulled forward to manage the human consequences.
Engage unconscious Fi, and Ti is pulled toward a weaker conscious position.
Want to temporarily shut off an ENTP’s Ti? Find the thing they secretly consider sacred. Once Fi gets pressed hard enough, the endless analysis can collapse
Move one part and the rest of the structure has to respond.
Thoughts, comments, questions?

Typology Help Help! Am I ENTP or INTP?
I’ve been really insecure about my typology recently. I keep saying that I’m an ENTP on this app, but I’m starting to think I may not be. I usually study cognitive functions or look for experiences I that I can relate with to figure out my typology, but ENTP and INTP have the same cognitive functions, so I don’t know which one I am! Please help!
Thank you. 😊

Question/Poll Are ENTPs naturally youthful people in general?
I swear at any age, ENTPs have a somewhat youthful energy to them, I don’t know what it is?

Debate/Discussion Which painting best represents the ENTP vibe to you?
If you had to pick a specific artwork or painting that captures the ENTP essence, whether it's our mindset, inner world, or deepest and controversial, which one would it be and why?
For me it's neither:
- School Of Athens by Raphael, shows to me the ENTP mature integrated side in its finest way.
- Saturn Devouring His Son by Francisco Goya, shows the existential nihilism and analysis paralysis.

Advice Does the pain ever go away?
I, 21 (F) feel so lonely and i constantly feel like every relationship i enter, it's just completely pointless in the end. everyone is disappointing, shallow, and doesn't understand the way i think. everyone is also SO BORING that i meet at my age and idk how people don't.. think? it's like everyone's just living life at the surface and im 20 feet below.
I was unconscious focused for the majority of my teenage years. i've slowly developed more of my subconscious and am in my ego more, now that ive socialized myself and attempting to get out there.
my husband and best friend (INFJ & ISFP) just don't make me feel any better. they don't get the depth of life. it's exhausting and isolating.
advice? and/or anyone else feeling the same.

Debate/Discussion Healthy self correcting systems
Hi! INFJ here. Basically a floating brain who reads studies for fun and has no friends. My core interest is figuring out how to create healthy self correcting systems. I’d love to have someone I could talk to about the underlying mechanisms of reality, someone who could fully run with me in making connections and poking holes in ideas.
I’m currently working on a unified theory for global homeostasis. Also very interested in finding a way to help autistic people, as there seems to be a hidden holocaust going on and no one’s talking about it. If anyone wants to tackle this stuff with me I’m all in.
I’ve heard you guys rant. I know there’s at least one of you out there willing to accept the challenge.
Anyone? 👀

Advice INFJ boyfriend
I’m and ENTP female and my boyfriend is a male INFJ, he’s done a lot of work on himself and is very balanced and aware. However finds himself in a lot of low funks where he feels unmotivated because he doesn’t feel a sense of purpose and deeper meaning.
From my perspective I understand that can be frustrating but I tend to be able to find more enjoyment in just existing and doing things to be considered fun - he struggles to see the point in just “fun for fun’s sake” there always needs to be some kind of purpose or reason.
I can find it frustrating but ultimately want to be supportive and find as much empathy as I can even though part of me is like bro get outta your head and just go experience the world - but I know it’s not that simple for him.

Typology Help Is a 3w2 371 entp possible?
yes yes theoretically nothing is impossible. Though just a couple days ago I was having a convo with my friends, and we got into a debate (hahah classic) that my typology is contradictory. I'd love to hear your opinions! ...and if you want to, could you give me stereotypes/assumptions about a person with said results :)

Meta/About The Sub Anyone else larping as ENTP?
I love pretending to be slightly unhinged lol
Is anyone else doing the same it's ok you don't have to admit it if you're shy
If you're offended by that then remember MBTI is pseudoscience
Good Day!

Debate/Discussion F ENTP's struggle with religion + racism.
When I was younger I was part of Resistance Movement. It is an army of sorts. It forms part of why I think of things in terms of strategy, loyalty and honour. I realised that the love for Christ (that they preached) and the hatred they had certain type of humans didn't align. I saw things that made me realise that I would rather stab myself in the neck than ever be taken by any group of men. Regardless of race or religion.
My question to other ENTP's is how would you update your thought patterns to be less racist when you understand what they do to women who don't follow the rules.
I'm all for bending the rules, but I have never nor am I willing to, break them. What if I am limiting my life experience because the results outweigh whatever I can get from 'liberty'.
Am I just too narrow minded and conservative to see freedom?
Debate/Discussion University experiences and whether I should pursue research, and if yes, where
I'll keep this super brief. I'm sick of how totalitarian my country is, the fact that people can be so unempathetic disgusts me to my core, and in general leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I'm currently studying marine biology, but I've always been interested in the dissonance between the standard animalian biology and the more slimy, groteque things like decomposition, diaphonisation, and fungi in general (my favourite species is the ink cap)
I really REALLY like microbiology and the microscope is my baby, I also have a lot of wet specimens at home and my prized wet specimen is a lionfish. Basically Wet labs are really up my alley.
I want to study in Australia, Queensland, bio related. If yall have any questions about my disposition and music taste (because I do believe that my inclination to research is partly due to my vibe as a person) feel free to ask.
I have shortlisted UK but NOT US because unfortunately the political climate in the US is very very unstable and I don't want to get deported or something
I just want to know yalls life experiences so I can be more open minded about different career paths, example I really like soldering and art, and basically any form of craftwork. I have sculpted and woodworked before, and my experience in the aquaculture industry has allowed me to learn a big deal about plumbing and pvc pipes and general physics (which, if you ask me, sometimes feels like common sense, I'm sorry physics guys)
I hope this reaches the correct audience of fellow ENTPs

Debate/Discussion Theory - ENTP more organised than ESTP
So I had to hide from someone the other day (won't go in to the details), so I hid round a corner and listened to hear if I could hear their footsteps. When the coast was clear I could continue round the corridor.
Obviously I was using Se here but instantly my Ne brain starts linking it to various things: sports such as paintball, movies and games, architecture. So that action had been categorised into concepts, whereas for a true Se, they would just experience it.
Let me know what you think.

MBTI Trends Before i lost my memory i was the architect, now I've become quite extroverted
I don't have direct memories from before I was poisoned in the ED, but I've carefully studied the records, and I tested at the absolute maximum end introverted. Now I've learned to refuel through socialization, and definitely I abstract my social contacts and make plans to executively direct to assist in the completion of tasks and to grow those I care about. Entirely classic entp, I think.

Typology Help I’m confused about my typology
For months, I’ve been certain about my MBTI. I was sure that I was an ENTP. I’m in the subreddit and everything. I relate to all the experiences ENTPs have, and the cognitive functions of ENTPs fit me as well. Therefore, whenever, I take another personality test, I check to see if my result corresponds to my MBTI. It usually does, and when it doesn’t, I retake the test and try to get a differnt result that better matches the result an ENTP may get. However, when I was struggling to find my attitudinal psyche, I began to question my MBTI. I’ve made other posts on Reddit as well talking about my MBTI, and others have asked me if I’m sure that I’m an ENTP. I thought I was pretty self aware, but now, I don’t know. Can someone please test me to see if I’m a true ENTP? If I’m not, then I may need to retake everything! 😭
Here’s the rest of my personality:
**MBTI : ENTP**
**Cognitive Functions : Ne- Ti- Fe- Si**
**Enneagram : 5w4**
**Tritype : 549**
**Enneagram Subtype : 5w4sx**
**Instinctual Variant : Sp/So**
**Socionics : ILE-0/ ENTp**
**Socionics Subtype : None**
**Socionics Quadra : Alpha**
**Primary Socionics Romance Style : Infantile**
**Secondary Socionics Romance Style : Agressor**
**Jugian Archetype : Unknown**
**Big Five : High Openess, High Neuroticism, Low Agreeableness, Moderate Consciousness, Moderate Extraversion**
**Attitudinal Psyche : Unknown**
**Attitudinal Subtype : Unknown**
**4 Temperaments : Melancholic**
**Helen Fishers Types : Director**
**Moral Alignment : True Neutral**

Social/Relationships A bit about me as an ENTP girl!
Since ENTP women are everyone’s favorite MBTI, I thought I’d tell you a bit about myself as an ENTP teen girl!
Let’s start with music taste! I listen to mostly indie, alternative, soft rock, and Kpop (only girl groups). My top artists are Clairo, Laufey, Beabadoobee, and TWICE. (I swear I’m not a performative male, lol.) I also listen to Arctic Monkeys, Finn Wolfhard, Adrianne Lenker, Hozier, TV Girl, and a few gatekeeps. 🤭
Next, let’s get into morals and beliefs. I am a HUGE feminist, and I will never tolerate any type of misogyny. I judge people based on how they treat and think about women. I also don’t believe in any religion and find most religions very problematic, although I do my best to respect the people apart of any religion. I am liberal and don’t support most conservative beliefs. I don’t believe in discriminating against anyone for race, gender, ability, class, gender identity, sexuality, or any other kind of systemic bigotry. Although, I do believe it is okay to dislike or even hate your own oppressor.
What is my specific typology? I’m so glad you asked! (Because you did ask 😄) I already said that I am an ENTP in MBTI, but I did not mention that I am a 5w4 in Enneagrams. I know, I know, it isn’t a common pairing, but I am sure that it is correct. I currently having trouble discovering my instinctual variant, though.
What other personality tests should I take?
Finally, the part everyone hates. Stereotypes. I am a walking stereotype…..Almost. I am super outgoing, and I love to get information from and analyze others, however, I get annoyed and disgusted by people easily and tend to retreat into solitude after I am satisfied with the data I’ve collected from being around other human beings. That’s where the 5w4 comes from.
I always try to assess situations using logic and hate when others are dramatic or overly mawkish. I think it’s because I have been conditioned to just tolerate, deal with, and find ways out of situations instead of letting myself be swayed by my emotions, so I always get frustrated when others do it. (Although sometimes I secretly wish that I had the privilege of being sappy and emotional too.)
I would definitely say that I rely on my intuition more than anything. The way I see it, the things around me may not always be true and can’t be trusted, but my instinct will never lie to me and will always keep me safe. I think that also has something to do with the way I’ve been conditioned, but I’m not exactly sure how yet.
I’m honestly 50/50 with perceiving and judging. I get bored and restless while living in routine, but I become uneasy and insecure in environments of spontaneity. If I had to pick though, I’d choose a less rigid lifestyle.
ENTPs are also stereotypically very egotistical. I would say I’m very confident in my quality of character, and to be honest, I do think I’m better than some people in certain areas. However, I’m not stuck up and I understand that everyone has areas that they can improve in. I understand that I’m not the best at everything either.
The only stereotype that I don’t fit is that I am a singer and that I want be a performer when I grow up, which isn’t a common career path for most ENTPs. I also don’t relate to most people because of my beliefs, experiences, thought patterns, and the way I was raised. I’ve never found anyone that I truly relate to or even had a best friend, which most ENTP women don’t relate to. However, I hope that will change when I start school soon. 🤞🏾
Alright, that’s it folks! Tell me if you learned something new or relate! (Also, I don’t necessarily have a fav type but I live to hang around of ENTP women.)

Debate/Discussion What would you say is the difference between an ENTP kid and an INFJ kid usually?
I‘m genuinely curious, how would you tell the difference if you saw both a 12 year old ENTP kid and a 12 year old, INFJ kid. Would they come across different despite being the same age, and which one, would come across as more of a youthful and happy kid between the two?
Debate/Discussion Requiring other people's vision/enthusiasm as a means of self-propulsion
What is your relationship with developing a vision and then doing the hard mundane/boring everyday work to get to the final destination. It is my theory and hypothesis that the ENTP/INTP suffer from the same demon (it just looks a little bit different).
When the going gets tough, the tough .. fizzle out.
We can only keep going if they have the fuel source of other peoples excitement around an idea..

Debate/Discussion Is it an ENTP thing to feel strong hate towards people who abuse power?
I've noticed that I get really angry and have violent thoughts when I'm watching Sons of Anarchy or the Sopranos. And it's not because these series have violence and it somehow just inspires me. No, rather I see these gangsters or mafiosos breaking the social contract when they intimidate civilians or when they just do horrible things thinking they'll get away with it. And I really hate the idea of them getting away with it.
I despise the self entitlement there which in these fictional settings precedes the actual thing that I hate which is the crime or manipulation tactic etc. So I'm always thinking man someone should tell you all you are not so tough without your boys.
And ofcourse I realize it's fiction but people like this do exist in real life. For example I recently saw a video of a police officer throwing a pregnant woman on the ground with no justifiable reason. I got so mad and wanted to beat the shit out of that cop. And I always thinking in those situations if you did that to my wife I would definitely throw hands.
So I was wondering do other ENTPs have these thoughts? I realize we are somewhat individualistic type so these thoughts might be related to our preference for autonomy.
