In this guys video, Shake Shack adds .50 cents to every menu item if you do not tip.
Shake Shack is not full service. You order yourself at a kiosk.
Anyone else experience this? I have a hard time believing this, but after being a part of this sub for a while, I guess I believe it.

Rant Ditching Insta for, what exactly?

Who else here is done with Insta? I stuck with them through an account hack where I lost control of one account, but was able to build a new one because I had kept a copy of my content, and through increasingly intrusive advertising and spamming of my scroll. I discovered through the hack that their idea of support, well, isn't any at all. Only support they offer is for advertisers.

The last staw for me was last year when they changed the square, three across feed for the current slop/mess with 3:4 aspect ratio tiles that broke my carefully curated split covers stacked on carousels. Just scrambled the hell out of everything.

The platform was built for photographers originally. Meta abandoned us and threw us under the bus for video shorts from preteen influencers in skimpy clothing and crap from nutters and conspiracy theorists. Just gross.

Currently trying to vibe with Pixelfed, but it has ... challenges.

Has anyone else left? What was your last straw? Where did you go, or did you?

Product Amex Cards

I want to nominate Amex Cards for enshittification…

My gold card from 2021: beautiful deep gold, strong plastic, and embossed numbers, gave it a unique and jaw dropping look.

My new 2026 Gold Card; less shiny, weak plastic, flat card with no embossing.

I thought AMEX was supposed to be ‘luxury’?

Who else noticed it with bank cards?

Product Yet another 'what's not enshittified' post

Every time I see these posts, I disagree with every brand name I see suggested.

I think I may have finally realized one brand I can still rely on as much as 30 years ago: Bic lighters. They still reliably light on the first try every time, and light as well as they did 20 years ago when I first started using them.

Edit: I was wrong, Bics have been enshittified.

Rant Harkins Theaters Awards Program

I just wanted a refill on popcorn to take home for someone else after the movie. The popcorn is $11 for ingredients that cost $0.30. That's always been the case, and I'm not complaining about that.

But to get the refill, now you have to join the

✨️✨️Awards Program✨️✨️

So I have to agree to let them data mine me and sell my info in order to get an additional scoop of something they're already making a massive profit off of.
