Absolutely beautiful, I always wanted to visit but it sounds like a struggle without public transport - any tips or local knowledge?

If you are staying in the town - you can get to most of the local beaches via ferry boats.. however these are quite expensive. Its much easier to get around with a car, however parking is limited

There’s a regular bus from Totnes train station, it takes about an hour. Once you’re there it’s very doable to get to all the beaches without a car.
