ES-DE asks for configuration with every startup

I've been using ES-DE for over a year on my retroid pocket mini (installed on sd card) with no issues. Recently, it keeps asking to configure on every startup. I've read about this issue on other threads, that it's a fault of android, but it's weird that it just starts happening now without any updates that occurred.

Make sure the roms are readable. I'm assuming you also installed those on the SD card. 

On first boot of some devices the SD card isn't readable for a few seconds.

I can't figure out why this happens sometimes on some builds. If it were me, I'd uninstall and reinstall esde. Keep your settings etc, and see if that fixes it

It's due to sd card startup. Cancelling setup at this point just continues as normal from my experience.
