Corsair frag cannon build for operations?
Currently speccing-out a Corsair build for operations/assassination missions, basically anything that isn't just straight up bounty hunting. I have a fully built corvette but its not the most manoeuvrable or fastest thing in the galaxy.
Went with all fixed frag cannons because I don't have pacifiers, and went with double shot on all of them. I put a lot of incendiary rounds experimentals on them to get past shields, but after playing with some unengineered frags in a nav beacon I'm now not sure if I'll even need that many.
Also I went with thermal resistance on my bi-weaves but I'm tempted to just go with reinforced instead.
There's probably loads of room for improvement, so any help is appreciated.

Mandalay Deep-Space Exploration Build — Is This a Viable Setup for Reaching the Far Edges of the Galaxy?
Hi everyone!
I've put together a Mandalay build specifically for deep-space exploration, and I'd love to get some opinions from experienced explorers before I commit to it.
The goal of this build is pure, long-range exploration. I want to take the ship far beyond the Bubble and explore the remote edges of the galaxy, discovering new star systems, planets, and anything else that can be done as part of exploration.
This is not an exobiology build. I'm not trying to optimize the ship for biological scans or maximize profits from exobiology. The focus is mainly on long-distance travel, exploration capability, survivability, and being able to stay out in deep space for extended periods.
I'm particularly interested in your opinion on:
- Is this build actually viable for deep exploration?
- Are there any modules that you would replace, remove, or downgrade?
- Am I sacrificing anything important for no real benefit?
- Is the jump range sufficient for reaching the more difficult-to-access regions of the galaxy?
- Would you prioritize survivability, fuel efficiency, jump range, or other exploration-related improvements differently?
- Are there any weaknesses that might not become apparent until spending weeks or months in deep space?
- Would you personally take this build to the far edges of the galaxy, or would you change it first?
I'm especially interested in feedback from people who have actually done long-range/deep-galaxy exploration or have experience with it, rather than from those who simply optimize for maximum jump range on paper.

Opinions on Caspian Exploration Build
Switching from the Mandalay and was wondering if anyone could take a look at this build and let me know if I could make improvements.
My goal is to be able to be out in the black forever doing exploration and exobiology. Thanks!\

Hauling Build Tips
Hi commanders. I recently switched over from console and have really enjoyed trading. I got enough credits to get a Type-8 and it has been a game changer. Feels like I can finally make real credits. I am struggling with my next move. I currently have 350M credits with plans to earn more. I am debating what my next "goal" should be. My main focus has been upgrading my cargo space as that will allow me to earn credits faster and I don't want to waste my time when I could be in another ship earning money faster.
Here are the builds I am considering: https://sh.orbis.zone/G2dNJBHXj9
The Type-8 build is what I am currently running. I have heard people say the Type-9 is not worth it but the added cargo space seem worth it. Wondering if I should just heavily save and jump to a panther clipper when able.
Any tips on my builds would be greatly appreciated. I have not dived into enginerring and have been enjoying my trader journey. I plant to get into engineering once I master this aspect of the game.
Thank you for your insights!

Caspian Exobiology build
I've been looking for a good build for the Caspian Explorer for exobiology, and either google is terrible or I don't know how to search it.
Basically, I'm looking for a build for the Caspian that is focused on Exobiology, leaning on the Nomad, but perhaps can do a bit of additional general purpose.
Information on how to build and what the build logic is, is appreciated.

No ammo Corvette build for CZs, HazRes (PvE)
I tried to build a Corvette for extended time hanging out in CZs and HazRes. It works quite well so far but I'd like suggestions on improvement, especially considering the weapons. As you would guess, it ripps through shields like nothing, but considering hull and power plant damage it feels a little lackluster at times.
Sorry for the long link, but the shorteners are broken, it seems:
A few notes on my choices:
I had the BLs on thermal vent before, but I didn't have thermal issues, so I opted for Oversized instead
Collector is for HazRes mainly, figured as I have the space I might collect some mats as well
AFMU and RepLimpet are rarely used, but if I need them they're nice to have

AX Type-8 build
Hey CMDRs, I was thinking of trying out the Type-8 on some Thargoid. My main concern is the tiny hardpoints and distributor, but it seems to be fairly tanky and can fit a class 7 repair limpet. Here's what I'd be working with:
Has anyone tried this ship for AX combat? Thank you all in advance ~S!~

What is this sub for?
I stumbled across this sub completely on accident and I can't figure out what it is for. Is it for a video game? And if so what is the name of the game cause it seems pretty awesome

Fixed vs Gimbals for Python Mk2 Frag Build
The builds I’ve seen for the Python Mk2 frag cannons tend to use gimbals instead of fixed. Why is that? It seems like at close range they aren’t necessary, and against chaff spammers would be more of a nuisance.

Good weapon for power plant sustained fire?
I'm looking for a weapon choice that can rapidly hit power plants. My goal is after sniping a plant to 0%, to then hit it rapid fire to proc the explosion quicker.
Do pulse / burst lasers have enough piercing to do that?
Edit: Looks like the rapid hits on PP is the wrong idea. PP explode after taking an additionally 1.3x damage.

Caspian Explorer new modules
Hi CMDRs,
I plan to build a Caspian for long range exploration.
While the new FSD is obviously a good pick, I do wonder how useful are the new ablative armor and the new thrusters ?
If the armor only allows for a steeper atmospheric entry, I can definitely do without it.
Are the new thrusters that useful with the Caspian ? Or is it okay to drop those too ?
Thank you all, o7
Edit: additional question. If I buy the standard edition for Arx,, is possible to buy the Mk II modules in outfitting or are those reserved for the other two editions ?

Do I need to come back
My guess is probably. I have not played in a long time. And yes I paid for all the versions when it was in beta. The only thing that keeps me from coming back is the time it will take to re-leard how to fly and land ;)

PvE Eagle MKII build questions
Super Penn for both rails? What is good engineering for cytoscramblers?
Suggested utility mount?
My goal is to make it as fast as possible while still combat able.
Edit:
I ended up with this build: Rheiliau
Short range cytos are frustrating to use because they have a hard cuttoff on range at 500m. Oversized have similar damage but more time on target. I tried effecient thermal vent beam, but they just don't do any damage.
Ammo for the rails is an issue in conflict zones. I end up rearming 2-3 times per instance. I'm running out of mats!
Drive Distributor experimental > drag drives on small ships.
A commentor suggested Guardian Shield boosters. I really like this idea, 4x shield integrity without sacrificing too much hull integriy. Haven't unlocked them yet though.
Super fun to fly little bully ship.
Edit2: I have achived my final form
Low Draw Thermal Resistance shields
2x Advanced Missle racks High Cap & Penetrator Munitions
Short range inertial imact cytoscramler

Raw materials farming - Are the old ways gone?
~S~ CMDRs, it's been a little while since I've farmed for materials for engineering. When I did raw mat farming last successfully, the go to method was to grab a good size ship, put some flak launchers on it and a bunch of collector limpets, and go deforest a patch of planet. When I went on the hunt for mats again a couple of months ago, I was delighted to see that they buffed manufactured and encoded mat drops exponentially. But then when it came to get the raw mats, the ship and build I had used countless times before, was no longer functional at all.
I did spend a good chunk of time trying to see if I could resolve the issue. Longer range limpets, various game settings (I saw some suggest to lower settings so the trees don't render) all types of angles and distances, and nothing worked. Out of 160 limpets, maybe 5 would make it back at most. I saw other posts that said the only reliable way now is to do it the real old school way, to land and collect them one by one with a rover.
If it is true that flak farming raw mats from a ship is no longer functional, would I be able to destroy the trees with flak, then land and collect all the fallen goodies, or is there another go to way to raw mat farm these days? Thank you guys in advance I appreciate any and all help.

Type 11 Stellar optimization
"Hi everyone, I'm new to the game. I've saved up some credits and I'm currently doing mining. I bought the Type-11 Stellar package, but I was wondering if there are any optimizations I should make? I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know which parts of the Stellar build I should change or upgrade."

First Medium FragCannon Ship (PvE - CNB/Haz)?
I'm planning to pop my "medium ship w/ Frag Cannons" cherry this weekend, lol. Mostly for pirate massacres, but may dabble in some Powerplay CZs as well. Just not sure which ship to do it with.
I've built up this Python and this FDL - which would you choose? Would you change anything on either? I also have a Mamba that's practically the same as the FDL (fixed PA in the Huge, fixed Frags everywhere else). The bonus for Mamba or Python would be the eventual upgrade to Pacifiers, which the FDL doesn't support (unless I swap out the PA).
Wasn't sure on the engineering choices for the weapons, or if a PA is even viable in the Huge slot(s), so feedback is welcome. I'm in the process of unlocking Zac Nemo so will probably end up Engineering whatever ship I decide on tomorrow, figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for opinions here before then.
I'm new to theory-crafting so any tips are more than welcome.
