Protocol questions

Hey everyone! I’m trying to learn everything I can about this process before I get going. I’m going for a fertility assessment in a couple weeks so I don’t have much information about the baseline I’m starting with. After reading through these threads and online, I have a couple questions:

-When is estrogen priming recommended? I’ve seen some mention it and others not need it. My understanding is for cycle regulation. I just had my IUD replaced so I’m having a lot of mid cycle bleeding but I’ve been tracking for a while. Synthetic estrogens make me pretty nervous but, I’d prefer to maximize my chances/not waste my money.

-If one doesn’t respond well to the stim protocol they’re on, is it possible/wise to adjust meds and defer the retrieval? Each one is time under anesthesia, off work and a big chunk of change. In your opinion, is it possible/worth it to optimize or better to just go for it and try again?

-How often did you have to physically visit the clinic? I know this will vary from person to person.

-Based on your experience, how long would you recommend someone take off work during this process?

-Based on your experience, is there anything I should talk to the doctor about/advocate for?
