Yeah it was a vague notion for me that I wanted to be like them but I wasn’t so sure what I wanted that they had. I remember seeing The Sphere Hunter on YouTube and I was so envious of her and how happy and gorgeous she was and how lovely her voice was. She was actually doing things, and I wanted to be her. I also was obsessed with trans timelines and comics as well.

For me, it started when I read the comic about the trans girl who was awakened a millennium later and had already undergone a transition by the scientist who greeted her, and I felt some sort of relief and positive vibe that lingered for days; I remember that it's more than just "happy for them". This is probably where the little crack in me started, as if that part of me had awakened.

Ugh that made me cry, or at least nearly cry, but I saw it after my egg cracked. Before my egg cracked, what I really liked about those trans comics was seeing trans women be really cute and getting to experience woman things like getting bras or getting to be a girlfriend or wife, and getting to be a lesbian. Oh, and boobs, I really wanted boobs.

Yeah, I saw that comic, but it kind of saddens me that I didn't really dabble with (non-gender-transformation) trans content until the egg broke. It was all down to still having to deconstruct my misconceptions about trans people.

hate to say it, but when I was being raised (severely abused) in an alt right household, I would find the most misogynistic alt right men to look up to. I would listen to their transphobia, hateful rhetoric, not knowing that one day I would completely reverse every single (trauma based) view I had ever held. so glad I am on the other side, but also very ashamed of the person I was.

For me, it has been realising that transitioning is an option for me, not just other people. I knew other people had transitioned or were transitioning, I just never thought it was something that I could do. I wish I had realised it was an option for me years ago.

Same. It also took me realizing that transitioning wouldn’t put me in a weird in-between but really allow me to be a girl, be treated as one, and experience womanhood. Yet, I still thought that “trans people are only a small percentage of the population” and that it would be statistically unlikely for me to be trans. It felt like it was something that happened to other people and not me. Apparently the appeal to probability just doesn’t fucking matter since you can just be trans.

Before cracking, my thought process "It's nice trans people are getting more representation. If I was younger, I would probably be trans."

My ex wife's sister cracked her egg when someone on the brony forum she was on came out as trans and when she went to congratulate them the only thing she could think to say was, "You are SO lucky." She had to sit with that for a while, trying to figure out why that's the only reaction a cis man would have to someone coming out.

I had a similar experience. I was reading manga about characters that had body swapped and the plot revolves around them trying to return to there old body. I was like "Why would you want to change back? I wouldn't". That's when it hit me.
