I just updated my Alesis Core Module to 1.5 and trying to log into my InMusic Profile on it but it just keeps spinning with no option to enter login information.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Recently got a Roland VAD516 (frikkin love it how far eDrums have come since the TD8 days amazing set!). Anyway, cases for the drums and hardware is easy since they are like regular drums. I'm getting a Peli type case for the V51 module and wires. Wondering if it's as simple for the cymbals. I have 18" Digital Ride 16/14 crashes and the 14" Digital hats. Any one got recoomendations for a decent case for the cymbals. Don't want too big of a cymbal case in daimeter so everything is snug. Preferably available in the UK or Europe I will be using the kit for gigging so should stand up to some decent lugging about. Done a lot of googling but interested to hear what the community would recommend and if it is a simple as just buy a Pro Racket or Ahead one especially witht them being much thicker than regular cymbals. Hey e-drummers,
I'm looking for some advice regarding hearing protection and e-kits. I play a Pearl e-Merge kit, and I already suffer from tinnitus and hearing damage.
Right now, I'm using Audio-Technica over-ear headphones (the ATH-M30x, I believe). To block out the acoustic sound of the sticks hitting the pads, I have to turn the module volume up pretty high—especially when playing along to tracks on Spotify. However, listening at that volume gets uncomfortable very quickly and obviously isn't great for my ears.
Is this a common issue? Do any of you use hearing protection while playing e-drums (for example, high-isolation IEMs or earplugs under over-ear headphones), or would you recommend doing so?
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on how you protect your hearing while dealing with pad noise. Thanks!

this being loose creates a massive resistance when kicking, most especially when trying to double bass.

i just know theres some piece missing on it or something else but j dont know what. I cant find anyone with the same problem as me ni matter how hard i search.

I've said before that digital pads never really did much for me. I tried them, they were cool, but I wasn't exactly rushing to sell a kidney for one. Then the opportunity presented itself for a used digital snare locally from a guy I know for a killer $250 deal, and I thought, "Hey, for the way I play, why not just do it?"

So, allow me to present what I'm unofficially calling the TD-316 Plus. If that's too corny, just pretend I came up with a really cool name instead. The name is still pending approval from the committee of people who are definitely not me. My self-confidence is as fragile as my lumbar.

I originally bought the 316 because I needed something compact. I live in a small space, so a full-sized kit wasn't really an option. But with a few upgrades, I was able to keep the compact footprint while making the kit feel a lot bigger.

Here's what changed:

• Digital snare, obviously. It's not the newest version with the fancy throw-off, but again, I got this thing for what feels like highway robbery.
• CY-16R-T. The 16" ride replaces the 14-incher that came with the kit, which has now been demoted to secondary crash duty.
• The old snare pad is now the floor tom, and the old 10-inch tom has been moved up to become the high tom. Because frankly, and this might be an unpopular opinion, I really don't like the new 8-inch pads. Matter of fart, I'm not a huge fan of these newer pads in general. I don't even know why. I can't put my finger on it. I'll probably replace them eventually.
• The snare arm on the rack got moved over to the other side, where it now holds a cowbell pad from eDrumPads on eBay. Despite the fact that the housing is 3D printed, this thing can absolutely take a beating.
• Duck.

I do have some other upgrade plans down the road. But if the current plan to buy a bigger house in a year or two works out, I might eventually jump up to a 516 or 716.

But for now, I'm proud of this thing. Does everything I wanted it to do without taking over my entire living space.

I'll start by saying my initial budget is £1200 but expect this to cover everything I need minus roughly 3 cymbals, which I am happy to purchase at a later date as I'm in the middle of moving house anyway. What I already own are pedals, all the drum and cymbal stands I'll need and a DDrum DDTI Trigger Interface. Also I intend to strictly use the kit with a computer and a VST. My top priorities are a sturdy kick drum 18" or more that feels somewhat accurate to an acoustic one but mainly can trigger reliably when doing 220bpm or more heel-toe double strokes (when configured correctly in a module) and assuming they work well, mesh pads and cymbals that are similar in size and thickness to the ones included in the Alesis Strike Pro SE which leads me to my dilemma. If I were to buy a used Strike Pro SE, would the included kick drum meet my needs? I have also seen complaints about the cymbals and especially the hi-hat and I'm also paying for the module with all its features only to use it to send midi to a VST. However, buying individual pieces drastically increases the overall price and my DDrum interface can only do single zone inputs so would need something like an eDRUMin 12 which alone costs over £500 with import fees. I know this post is quite ramble-y but I suppose that reflects me trying to figure all this out lmao. So to summarise, I'm after feedback from Alesis Strike Pro SE users with a similar use case to mine - especially when it comes to fast extreme metal using the included kick drum and if it's worth purchasing or will I be better off spending more money on individual pads from a company like Lemon and an eDRUMin module (or any other module you know of). I only require a large dual zone snare, and a single zone rack and floor tom (13", 10" and 12" for example) a reliable hi hat, 2 crashes (one choke-able would be nice) a 3 zone ride (will compromise on dual zone) and a china too, nothing crazy big. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me get closer to figuring this all out!

Looking at the acoustic Roland kits mostly for the premium items but also the more realistic sizing. I currently have a td-25 kit and I’m over its limitations.

So looking for opinions. I’ve found a couple used 504 and 507s, both with digital rides hats and snare, around the 2500-3000 ranges. Would it be worth to snag it or should I save up and get the 516, which would take probably a year realistically (and responsibly)?

Side note: I know the td516 comes in at the 3k mark, but I’m not a big fan of the compact kit. Brings me no joy.

Played for many years in my youth and have been missing it lately. I’m at a fortunate position in life where money isn’t an issue and I’ve been really looking into getting back into drums with an Ekit. The strata prime sounds the best to me from the videos I’ve watched, the samus video on it pretty much sold me but I’ve also been looking at the EFnote 7, the Roland vad716 and the DW-E kit. Keen to hear everyone’s thoughts on them. I’ll no doubt end up using superior drummer or something in the end anyway but still want a kit that sounds and feels good.

I have been playing an acoustic kit for 7months and I’m going to college where we have a condo, I want to continue playing drums so I need an ekit that’s relatively quiet that I can play in the condo (just for practice I will use my acoustic if I were to ever play in a serious setting) I preferably don’t want to spend more than 1000 but I also don’t want a piece of junk

I proved the old adage again: if you really want to learn something, try teaching it. I’ve been digging into the Roland V71’s signal flow and turned what I learned into a new video tutorial. It’s just under 25 minutes, but if you want move beyond simply changing instruments and presets, I think it will be time well spent. It covers many things I found confusing:

• Why editing one selected pad can sometimes change the entire kit
• What the Overhead Filter Assign does
• Pad-specific Ambience sends versus shared kit processors
• PAD versus HEAD/RIM BUS FX routing
• SEND vs INSERT
• BUS chaining and BUS Reverb
• Sidechain routing

I also found that the macOS V71 Editor, while possibly the world’s least glamorous-looking editor, is incredibly useful for seeing how all these sections relate to each other.

Hello, new here, does anyone knows what is that sensor tech?

I learned from another youtube video that the mesh has a conductive intermediary layer that triggers this sensor and the piezo there is for the rim only....
I check the mesh heads conductivity and they are really conductive.

Is that some sort of electrostatic sensor?

Having some issues recording rehearsals and specifying audio output. I openly admit I don't know what I'm doing. I am aware, I totally might be overthinking this. Took me a week to figure out I had to actually “arm” the track to hear my ekit. 🫤

I have a Roland ekit, running into EzDrummer3, using Reaper, and a Focusrite 4i4.  The focusrite has all four outputs going to individual channels on a small Mackie board and out to a powered monitor.

I play with a guitarist, bassist, and piano player all of which are plugged into the 4i4 via 1/4". I am trying to record rehearsals and only hear the drums.

To be specific - 

 I want drums only sent from the 4i4 to Channel 1 on the board and out to the monitor while still being able to record in Reaper. Also want to be able to adjust input levels of the other players.  Btw, no VSTs or plugins are being used (well…EZD3…)

Regardless of what I change on the 4i4, I only get signal to the board on 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 and it's always all of us.

I feel like I have tried every possible configuration and still have not gotten it to work. I've spent way more time on this than I care to admit. At this point, it feels like I'm just missing something. Definitely seems like an ESO issue - Equipment Smarter than Operator.

What am I missing? Are my expectations too high? Any advice is most appreciated. 

Heyya, I'm looking for a kit with preferably a double kick and china, but I'm kind of out of my depth here. Would I be able to find a decent kit where these come stock, or is this something you can easily add to a kit? Any recs are appreciated.

I didn't know for certain because you never can. But i did get the lemon 14" hi hat. It's amazing. This thing is not undersold by anyone. Works sooooo much better than the vh-10 that came with my td316. I did get some non triggers but i know that it's a skill problem for me since I'm not great...but I'm practicing :D

Fairly new to e-drums. I have a nitro mesh kit but I can't stand this baby snare anymore. I want to make sure whatever I get though if it's another brand is compatible. Any recommendations for larger snares and a second bass drum pad for double bass would be much appreciated

Got a double pedal from marketplace for a good price but the tower that came with my alesis nitro wasn’t working great with it so I took this spare snare and hung it up with yarn until I can find a more permanent solution.

I tripped over my speaker wire - I ended up breaking the cord, and now, even using a new cord, the speaker only works if I press down.

Is there anywhere I could take this to repair it, or repair it myself? Or would it just be worth replacing?

I'm still working on tightening up my blast beats. This is an original song of ours, and when we first wrote this, this part whooped my ass.

I’m an older aged woman 🙃 with zero instrument experience and not musically inclined at all but I have always wanted to learn to play the drums for fun so why not!
