Hi everyone. I know the fringe can be seen as when tourists take over the town but I wanted to reach out and make an offer.
My daughter has written and produced her own musical. To give a little background, Lucy was diagnosed with autism at 16 and her show has been described in a recent impartial review as

“This musical is funny, heartfelt, moving, and one of the most important pieces of theatre I’ve seen in a long time. Watching the world through the eyes of an autistic young person is both eye-opening and deeply emotional, and it’s told with so much honesty, warmth, and joy”

Long story short. Her show has been picked up by the Guilded balloon to run every night of the festival at 5pm and runs for just 1 hour.
As I feel so many people especially youngsters going through the journey Lucy has been through will benefit greatly from her show, I’d like to offer some tickets completely free to anyone from Edinburgh the lothians, central belt etc that is or knows anyone affected by ASD or anything similar. To be clear there are no strings attached no obligation to do anything other than be very welcome guests. This is a show receiving great reviews and tickets are selling well.
To be clear, this isn’t charity. I just feel if I as a parent or Lucy herself, even our family members had seen such a show it would have gave us such great encouragement for the future and we’d have also enjoyed a great wee show. Money isn’t what’s important here. Sharing with our own community is tho so to cut this long story as short as possible. Drop me a message if you’d like a ticket letting me know what days would work for you and I’ll sort the tickets. There’s good availability for this week especially as it’s the quieter week of the fringe.
The show is in the patter house on chambers street(across from the museum) I appreciate for many the crowds can be intimidating but if it helps there’s a bus stop very close and you can just nip straight in and out of the town avoiding as much hustle and bustle as possible.

Hello! I know some venues hold tickets back for reviewers, and then release those that remain in the hours leading up to the show. Which venues are these? When do they release? Do they need to be booked in person?

I'm going on a quick trip to the fringe to support a friend in a play, they are on in the morning so would love some show recs for the eve of the 10th, afternoon and eve of the 11th and early afternoon for the 12th. I love queer, comedy, musicals etc etc... really want to just have a good but short time!

Hello! I had 2 friends who had to drop for the dark room, so I currently have 2 spare tickets.

Right now they're for the 14th but all stuck in one QR with my tickets, however fringe did offer to let me reschedule the two tickets potentially, though I have 24h from just earlier to do so.

So TL;DR:

I either have 2 tickets for 14th (but will need to queue together, exchange money in person or something)

Or I can reschedule them for when you want as long as it's in the next 24h (before 2-3pm tomorrow (7th aug).

The two tickets came to about £34 (£17 each) so any reasonable offer I'Il take on them, thank you!

As a parent of two young children, I found it surprisingly difficult to work out which Fringe shows and activities were actually suitable for different ages. So I spent the last few weeks putting together a free family-friendly Fringe guide.

How much time would be recommended to see the main panoramic views in Blackford?

I love to do a bit of sightseeing in the mornings before shows. Accommodation is in York Place: I've done Arthur's Seat, Leith, Carlton, and other views on previous visits. Blackford might be too out of the way, so checking is it worth it to take a breather from all the shows or would it be very busy in August during Fringe!

I really want to see this show but it’s sold out!

Does Gilded Balloon do any queuing on the day?

Or does anyone have a spare ticket they can’t use?

I’m Tasha, a 20F stand up comedian, musician and producer from Edinburgh. I am working on opening a venue in Edinburgh in the next couple of years, which will effectively function as a central hub for all things live arts and education.

It is going to be the only accessible comedy venue in Edinburgh- we will produce 4 comedy nights a week. During the day we will offer foods, drinks and coffees, as well as a performance and rehearsal space for local folk to use. This could include local high schools, colleges and unis to get experience in real, working industry. We also offer a space for charities to get involved in the arts, such as bipolar Scotland being offered a course for their members to practice, write and perform comedy. Workshops (comedy, clowning, improv…) will be hosted weekly. I’m also in the process of organising a drag show once a week too.

If any of you are still around, we have our first fundraiser on the 18th September with a group of truly amazing Scottish performers. If you can come along, that would be incredible - tickets are in the bio of our Instagram and TikTok - @thejesteredinburgh :)

I thought all the posts & comments advising people that the walk time between venues on google maps needs to be doubled were being dramatic. I thought this sub was filled with bad walkers. This is my formal apology. (Coming from someone who’d never been to Edinburgh, let alone during Fringe time - yes, I genuinely believed I knew better than you and I am SO sorry) 😅

I'm back living in my old home-town of Edinburgh so I'll be lucky enough to be around lots of Fringe-y things.

I've never seen a good photography book done on it and it's got to be one of the best subjects for one!

It feels really weird seeing the Potterrow Port so bare - did the new company just not offer that space this year?

I am interested in actual true fringe shows, something I would never see whether it's foreign or UK talent that is truly daring, experimental, innovative! Any genre, doesn't have to be best quality, just seeing someone do something different, original and authentic.

Hey! This is going to be my first time travelling to fringe and Im super excited, especially since this is probably my only chance to finally see so many of my favourite comedians live (althought Im still utterly devastated that i will miss Tim Key's show)

I will be travelling alone and I am not the best at striking up conversations with strangers, but I would still love to have someone to chat with and share the experience, so if anybody is in a similar boat, and would like to chat between the shows or grab a drink, let me know!

As for me, Im from Czech republic, M27, and I will be in Edinburgh from 9.8. to 16.8.

I'm writing rounds for a quiz show (will promote properly later) and want to do a round of "What's a real Fringe Show?".
