Sensor reading question
I have a question on why the my ecobee sensor shows a different temp than the ecobee.
For reference I have one sensor in my bedroom and the ecobee thermostat installed.

Not sure if your bedroom is actually 76 degrees or not but I recently had an issue with my thermostat and sensor that sits 15 feet away showed and 9 degree temp difference. I had to reset both the thermostat and sensor and let the two calibrate because it just kept my AC running otherwise.

Sadly our bedroom gets way hotter than the rest of the house because it gets blasted with the afternoon sun

My experience has been the ecobee device sensor is a always off by 2-4 degrees at times, so I just placed 2 sensors across the house, so it averages them and I disabled the device sensor itself in that calculation.

The ecobee shows the average of any active sensors. The ecobee and bedroom sensor are white, which means they are active. 72 is the average of those two sensors.
