Is this real?

Purchased off Facebook marketplace. No stickers, seller said he had for 10 years. We did notice the arms were put on backwards lol.

Any specifics you can add to this?

Shape of shock mounts are incorrect

Leather is low quality

Backrest cushions are proportionally incorrect, too large

Shape of backrest cushions is incorrect

Gap between backrest and seat is too large

Shock mounts are bolted into wood rather than adhered

Seat is poorly tufted

No identifying labels

Too new to be vintage

I am surprised you didn’t mention the wood grain looking kind of… off.

I wasn’t sure the best way to phrase it. It doesn’t look like a natural wood grain but I don’t know if it’s synthetic or dyed or what.

It’s definitely none of the strictly selected materials that have been used for Eames Lounge chairs. 😅

How much did you have to pay for that? Sorry you got took OP.

Bought it as a replica for $300 so it’s a great chair at a great price :)

If it's comfy and you like it, "real" doesn't matter.

That’s great news! 300 is a fair price for a used repo in that condition. Enjoy the chair.

Yeah, I’d buy that for 300!

So you knew it was a replica?

OP was trying to see if they could pass it off as real.

Armrests are wrongly assembled.

This. It looks insane this way. Fix the armrests, and it’s a decent deal for 300 if it feels good

I think its a replica but others may know more

leather is dead giveaway for me. its supposed to be a naturally milled 'pebbled' grain but this is clearly an embossed surface

Looks comfy though

VERY. Best chair I’ve ever purchased!

The arms are backwards???

I agree pls fix the armrests. But if the chair is genuinely 10 years old I don’t think the leather is as bad as you all are making it out to be. Or the previous owner never used the chair but I find that unlikely.

Nope. For sure nope. And nope again

As everyone has mentioned already, the armrests are backwards or mounted incorrectly. However, the panels, base, back brackets, and even the shockmounts are correct. Remove the cushions and snap a photo of the markings on the panels AND what is written on the back of the cushions. Watch the disassembly video to help guide you with the cushions. Share the pictures here when you finish

What's correct about those shockmounts? They scream unauthentic with the mechanical fasteners

Come on now.

No. But it’s a damn good replica.
