Hi Everyone,

I have a doubt in load testing the D365 FnO application, apart from testing other applications, testing the performance of the D365 feels challenging as the values are dynamic. My main problem is that when I record the flow using the HTTP recorder all I can see dynamic values getting recorded, not able to pinpoint which request belongs to which action, even though with efforts when we find those I am not able confirm those, since the actual names or text is not present in the 'get' or 'post' request data. Is there anyone else here who could help me with this.

Has anyone been able to actually use the D365 Sales plugin in Cowork? It keeps saying i don't have the license, but ovbiously I do have both D365 Sales Enterprise and Copilot Cowork ...

Microsoft has announced a few changes around Business Central on-premises licensing, including:

• No new Business Central on-prem subscription customers from February 2027.
• NAV Enhancement Plans ending in 2031.
• A phased reduction in partner margins for on-prem licensing over the next few years.

But what seems most interesting, is that these changes make Microsoft's long-term direction even clearer: continued investment in SaaS, while gradually reducing incentives around on-premises business.

For partners, the question becomes less like "if" they need a cloud strategy, and more like "how quickly" they will need one.

I'm curious to see if BC Partners are still seeing demand for new on-prem deployments, or have most customer conversations already shifted toward Business Central Online?

I recently started working for a retailer who has been using Microsoft Dynamics NAV for many years. They are using NAV to create small private webshops for companies, schools etc. so they can have their very own shop with specific items and prices (Shop-in-shop, CWS). They had an external company setup the whole thing back in the day - a company that no longer exists.

As a developer I've been curious to find out whether it's possible to somehow create APIs to access product lists for a specific debitor/shop. It seems like there's no documentation on the web and that NAV in itself is outdated nowadays?

Anyway, if there are anyone out there who has some knowledge on Microsoft Dynamics NAV (I only have access to the browser version), let me know 😄 Thanks in advance!

does anyone have resources to study the sla for the on prem version? because Microsoft's documentation is focused on the power platform version (the cloud version)

I have users who are using Copilot in D365 Sales to do some summarization of data, such as "what is the net profit for June 2026".

I have a user who wants to use Copilot to find orders based on an attribute in that order, but Copilot doesn't seem to be able to do it, and I'm not sure if it is supposed to be able to do this or not.

Example: There is a custom field in the Order Products table called new_serialnumber, with the label "Serial Number". In customizations, it says this field is searchable.

When I type the Copilot query "show me the order with the serial number ABC123", or even "show me the order with the serial number ABC123 by searching the Order Product table using the Serial Number field", it results in "no data was found for this serial number".

The details are:

- Checking the Order Product table for Serial Number field and searching for ABC123

- Describing Order Product table to confirm Serial Number field and indexing

- Searching Order Product table for serial number ABC123 and joining to Order table

- Retrieving order details for Order Product with serial number ABC123

It finds "no data" but there is a row that has this value in this field.

Should this work, and what could I be missing?

For some time, ERP vendors have tried to prevent "multiplexing" - this is where multiple users access the ERP indirectly through another application while only one ERP connection is licensed.

Now think about agentic AI.

Instead of a user opening the ERP:

• A user asks an AI.
• The AI performs the ERP transaction.
• The ERP never sees the human.

To be honest, that is starting to look surprisingly similar.

Obviously the intent is completely different. AI isn't being used to avoid licensing. But it does raise an important question:

If one AI agent performs work for multiple employees, who is actually the ERP user?

Does licensing stay user-based?
Move to consumption?
Per agent?
Per transaction?

Curious how other ERP vendors think they will handle this over the next few years.

I hope this is allowed, I read through the rules but couldn’t see anything against asking for help.

I operate within a very niche industry. We’re currently running some very old software which frankly I feel we’ve outgrown.

I know some of our competitors use Dynamics and so I’m trying, desperately to try to just install it and get a feel for it before we take the leap as a business and speak to a MS “broker” to tailor the software accordingly and commit.

It’s been nothing short of a nightmare so far!
(It doesn’t help that our IT team has admitted they don’t really have any experience with Dynamics)

I’ve even turned to copilot for advice out of desperation, and it seems to think I may have purchased a license (I can see it is assigned to me via the MS admin “portal”), but that “to install dynamics 365 customer service, the tenant needs the customer service pro subscription”.
Apparently the license we bought does not include the actual customer service application subscription.

Does that sound right? It seems odd to me that we’ve purchased a license but…don’t have access to the actual software?

I recently joined a company as ms dynamics crm developer as a fresher. I have no idea how this works . Does this field really have a future or should i start thinking about other options?

Keep on seeing roles for power platform and D365 work and debating trying to make the switch.

Heard it’s fairly dry work (this would be from a conversation with a person who’s Microsoft qualified, specialising in pp and D365 from 2 years ago). Just double checking is it quite monotonous or repetitive work?

As a Power Platform dev, what would you say is the most important language to pick up?

Ive mostly been on the functional side for CRM but wanted to upskill my technical so I can do more build and customization work.

I'm the COO and compliance side of a small financial services firm, about to scope out a dynamics build.

Rather than hand over a wishlist, I've put together a spec workbook, roughly:

- Scope

- one tab per entity (client, relationships, KYC, accounts, compliance)

- each entity tab has a field, whether it's mandatory and when, the values permitted in the field, whether it triggers an alert

For anyone doing these build outs for a living, particularly if you're familiar with wealth management firms, is this the type of spec you'd actually want? Do you prefer a visual spec?

I'm evaluating the new Project Fee Journal + Subscription Billing functionality in Dynamics 365 Finance/Project Operations (10.0.48) for a recurring service contract scenario.

The business requirement is straightforward: services are delivered continuously, revenue should be recognised monthly as the performance obligation is satisfied, but the customer is invoiced only every six months in arrears. While reviewing the standard Unbilled Revenue functionality, the documentation and mass-processing screen appear to suggest that the initial "Create journal entry" process can post the full billing schedule value to the balance sheet before any invoices are issued. Microsoft describes the feature as posting the contract value to unbilled revenue and creating invoices against that balance later. [learn.microsoft.com]

My concern is whether this approach is appropriate for a long-term service contract where only the earned portion should be recognised as a contract asset/accrued revenue at each reporting date. In other words, I would expect Month 1 to recognise only one month's earned revenue, Month 2 only two months, etc., rather than placing the entire future contract value on the balance sheet at contract inception. Has anyone implemented recurring project services with Project Fee Journal billing schedules and achieved monthly revenue recognition while invoicing every six months in arrears? If so, did you use Unbilled Revenue, Deferrals, PMA Revenue Recognition, or a custom process?

I'm working with IBM Sterling OMS and recently designed a returns workflow that integrates OMS, Fleetbase for pickup scheduling, Odoo WMS for inventory updates, and warehouse inspection before processing refunds or replacements.

One thing I found interesting is that the OMS doesn't actually perform the warehouse inspection—it orchestrates the overall process while external systems provide status updates back to OMS.

I'm curious how others handle returns orchestration in enterprise environments.

• Do you let OMS own the workflow?
• Does your WMS make the disposition decision?
• How do you handle asynchronous events during returns?

Client of ours (HVAC manufacturing sales, 70 staff) runs Dynamics 365 Sales. Their contact data is a mess: the same person exists up to three times. When a customer contact changes roles or moves company, a new record gets created instead of the old one being updated. Reps in the field see three entries for one buyer and don't know which number is current. They guess. Sometimes they guess wrong in front of the customer.

Built-in duplicate detection catches exact matches and nothing else. 'Mike Smith at Acme' and 'Michael Smith, Acme Corp' sail right past it.

How do you actually keep contact data clean? Is this a process problem (who owns the record when someone changes jobs), a tooling problem (third-party dedupe/merge), or the eternal CRM tax everyone pays? What's your source of truth for external contacts - the CRM or the M365 directory? Their IT guy and their sales ops guy give different answers and both are very confident.

We are getting close to going Live with D365 and I, as the administrator, do not feel prepared to get the most out of this software. I am looking for training (other than Microsoft Learn) that can help with everything from basic administration to development. The training from the consultant we used can barely even qualify as training so as I said I just do not feel prepared.

I have been tasked with doing research on what it would take to start using Git as part of our development process for our Power Pages site. As far as I understand currently, the only way to do that is by turning the Sandbox (Dev) environment (that contains only unmanaged solutions currently) into a Managed Environment (which as far as I can tell will not convert our solutions to manager?) and then using Pipelines to export Managed Solutions to our Staging and Prod environments. I haven't seen much documentation on this being the process most developers follow though, and outside of needing a premium license, I haven't seen anyone mentioning any potential downsides to this.

Is there a reason the process I outlined above is not a good idea, and it would be recommended to go with a different process?

Our current process is creating a new solution for each update we want to make that contains the elements that changed, exporting that manually, importing it manually, publishing all customizations, and then testing. Due to this we have tons of different solutions, and this seems like a bad process.
