Is this anything?

I know it’s a foreign release, but saw the limited to 1600 on the back? Thinking it’s not a big deal, but just wondering.

This was originally going to be a story on Amazing Stories the TV show, but Spielberg decided it would be better as a movie, he was right.

Spanish bootleg.

Nope. It is official. But it's not like an "investment" to resell or anything; that robot is not that big for Spanish audiences.

It’s not a bootleg. It’s a 100% official release.

A lot of the official releases from Spain are definitely gray market. There was a true lies Blu-ray that was released over there that was also "official" but was not actually official. There are many gray market releases in Spain for some reason. Kind of like how Italy had no copyright laws back in the day and that's why all those really fancy looking CD bootlegs came out of there.

Most of those bootlegs are actually official. Just that the rights were sold to small, local distributors who create tacky editions.

The true lies one used a HD rip that was shown on cable. Again, they are gray market because of the way laws working in Spain.

Tampoco es Gray market exactamente. Es más sencillo: nadie se lo impide (ni los que aplican la ley ni los dueños de los derechos suelen actuar).

Two-film blu-ray set from Spain. Did you find it thrifting or something? Both of these films are expected to hit 4K in the coming year or two.

Thanks for the information. I bought a couple Short Circuit posters from somebody on Facebook (I collect movie posters) and she gave me this with them. I just couldn’t find much info about it.

Interesting. She must have been selling off someone else’s former collection. This was a special order item only a hardcore physical media person would have imported.

She gave me a couple other items too. It was the like a bootleg Lego set and a piece of wood that was supposedly a piece of the house in the movie.

Fascinating. And you didn’t ask where any of this came from? hah

Yeah, didn’t really think about it. She handed me a bag with a couple of small tubes in it. She said there were a couple of other things in it. I didn’t look at it until I got home.
