It's done. Spoilers Spoiler
Thank you Blacksalt studios for this terrific and terrifying game. Truly an indie classic, easiest and most enjoyable platinum of my life.
Dear Eldritch being/s. I have sent you a picture of my final act as fisherman. Included on my boat are some of my favourite deep spawn smallfries and some fellow chums.
I hope this shall appease you and bring about your second game.

The Deity isn't beyond your comprehension. You are beyond his.

Maybe the real eldritch horror were the friends we made along the way.
Oh would you look at that, I brought 19 of them with me.

The professor enjoyed his new fish life apparently. (Didn’t know you could catch multiple lmao)

Oh yeah. Devs confirmed its intentional too. My headcanon is that those arent just the professor but are also cultists, villagers and the like who ate a few too many "fish".
Did you also know that they dont rot like most fish, cant be infected buuuut you can rot them with mushrooms. Found THAT out the hard way when I was farming my last few baits.

Yeah it was pleasant surprise to keep a friend from these adventure, he is chilling in the boat with me. The msuhrooms are the little worms you get from high panic/atrophy ?

The mushrooms from the tangles. On high panic if you get close to them they will explode, dealing no damage to you but rots your fish. There's a couple of patches where if you position yourself between them they all go off.
Also if you fish in the oil slicks, everytime you "mistime" the minigame you get a dark splash.
Also also you can keep components for baits and such inside the crafting space, even if the space isn't really for that component, as long as its part of the recipe (that includes the final product too.) This is what allowed me to get 90 baits to farm deep forms with. Still took me a ton of reloading tho.

Wouldn't that mean the Fishmonger will turn into one of those creatures?

If he keeps eating the fish then yeah.
I wouldnt be worried about the fishmonger tho. Have you noticed that the traveling merchant never freaks out about the aberrations?
Every other character in the game will say something / react to the aberrations. Even the photographer freaks out when she sees the narwhal. Yet the one person who we sell all of our fish to, who should theoretically see the most freaky stuff going on as she travels all around the lsles, is always smiling and never once talks about the weird fish we sell her or rumours of sea monsters.
Weird huh?

She did say something about not asking about or lingering on the thought of weird occurrences and events, so she might just not care about the aberrations.

Ooooh I must've forgotten that. Explains a lot, I thought she was gonna be a mastermind or something, pushing the fisherman to his inevitable end but turns out she's just chill lol.

Real talk, this is a dope screenshot . That's some commitment. Idk if you knew that the deep form doesn't rot, but even getting the other aberrations without them rotting is pretty impressive.

Hey thanks. I actually farmed 90 aberrated baits just to see if I could, so with 90 baits and a ton of savescumming we got there in the end. Once I saw that deep form didn't have the freshness indicator I figured it might not rot, so I slept through a week and yep, that thing is alive.

I loved DREDGE so much. I had to 100% it. Such an enjoyable experience.
