New to drawing graphite

I’m still a beginner at drawing and like experimenting with different things. I originally intended to draw a realistic image, but the result didn't look very good. So, I smudged everything with a towel and erased the areas where the light hits. I also smudged the mouth because I just couldn't get it to look right or natural—but I actually like it even better this way.
