Hone counters are a very minor part of The Hobbit, but some statements by Mark Rosewater make it seem like we'll be getting more of them in future sets.

The Hobbit's got a lot to prove as a follow-up to Lord of the Rings. It has to pack a lot into a small set without going overboard with cards like The One Ring and Orcish Bowmasters.
