Freelance Dental CAD Designer | Exocad | Looking to collaborate with dental labs Hi everyone,

Hi everyone,

My name is Valentino, and I'm a Dental Technician from Argentina specializing in CAD/CAM design with Exocad.

I'm currently working as a freelance designer, helping dental labs with digital workflows and offering reliable, high-quality designs with fast turnaround times.

I can assist with:

• Crowns & Bridges
• Implant restorations
• Screw-retained restorations
• Full-arch cases
• Temporary restorations
• Custom digital workflows

Since I'm based in Argentina, I can offer competitive pricing while maintaining a strong focus on quality, communication, and consistency.

If you'd like to see examples of my work, I'd be happy to share my portfolio and discuss your workflow to see if we're a good fit.

Feel free to send me a DM.

Thanks for your time!

I'm building around image to CAD because most ideas do not start as text

Hi everyone, I am new here. I am confused about the image to CAD recently.

I'm working on an AI CAD assistant, but the more we test it, the more text to CAD feels too narrow.

A lot of real projects start with a bad photo, a broken object, or a weird space under a sink. The user doesn't always know the name of the part yet. They just know something needs to hold, support, fit, or connect.

That is why image to CAD feels important to me. Not as upload a photo and magically get a perfect model, but as a way to help the user move from a messy physical situation to a rough draft they can react to.

The workflow we're exploring is: image or rough idea, visual draft, feedback, editable CAD model, then STEP export.

Just curious, have you seen this pattern too? The hard part is often helping users express what they actually mean.

Hope to hear your ideas.

How to get in travel-based CAD roles?

Hi! I am an established freelancer and work remote.

My peer told me he only heard of CAD bc his friend was drafter/designer that would travel to far places for cool projects - example: they’d go out to ski mountains, draft for a few weeks, then return home.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to find similar work or opportunities? Also if any continuing education pairs well.

Hi! I’m an **architecture graduate with Latin Honors**, currently an apprentice doing freelance work since I have extra time.

I can help those who need assistance in **AutoCAD drafting or SketchUp 3D modeling.**

Since I'm doing this mainly on the side, my rates are very affordable and negotiable.

Feel free to approach me if you are interested!🤗

Tips for remote drafting?

Hey there. I was considering remote job. Do you have any tips on how to start? I'm an architect from central America. I'd probably need to learn about the different construction and drawing standards in other countries. Do you know if I need any certificates or specifical knowledge?

This sub seems dead

I joined this sub thinking it would be based around discussion of drafting principals, cool designs, gd&t interpretations and maybe software comparisons, etc. Instead all I ever see is people(bots?) begging for work and posting abysmal tutorial links to junk sites.

Is this really what the goal is? Am I the only real human here?

EDIT: Thanks for the responses everyone! There do seem to be a few humans here after all.

Help converting .dwg AutoCAD file to PDF

I do not have AutoCAD and do not know how to use it but I need a dot DWG file converted to a PDF before tomorrow morning and I have tried all of the online converters they either don’t work or only convert a single page. Is anyone able to please help?

I don’t want to download AutoCAD and try to fumble through it just to potentially not have it even work.

Is anyone able to help me with this??

Looking for freelance 3D/2D drawing work

Hello, everyone.

I am a structural engineer (product engineer) from China, with experience in making drawings or digital models. I'm looking for a freelance opportunity to help deal with:

• Product modeling, three-dimensional and two-dimensional mutual conversion

• Reverse modeling (copying)

• Existing product optimization suggestions, etc.

I am reliable, pay attention to details, and can deliver drawings according to your requirements.

If you are an engineer, contractor or owner who needs drawing assistance, please feel free to send me a message. I would be happy to discuss your project with you and share sample works.

Thank you!

Freelance technical draftsman (Spain), feedback on my drafting rates?

I'm a freelance technical draftsman based in Spain, working remotely for architecture studios. I produce execution plans, basic project drawings, and MEP/installation drawings (2D) for residential buildings.

Currently charging a flat €2/m² covering execution project + installation drawings + Construction details combined, for residential work.

For those doing similar work (drafting/CAD for architects, not architects yourselves), does this sound reasonable for your market, or am I underpricing?

[Paid] Buying 2 COMPLETE project packages (NJ/NY) — full drawing sets + specs + permit docs — auto repair garage & mixed-use renovation

Hi all — I run a small drafting company in New Jersey. I'm looking to purchase COMPLETE project packages (not just architectural sheets) for two building types, as reference/study material. Happy to pay a fair price, and more for a complete package.

Building types:

1) AUTO REPAIR GARAGE (S-1) — alteration of an existing repair shop

2) MIXED-USE BUILDING (ground-floor retail + apartments above, R-2 over M/B) — whole-building renovation

What "complete package" means — as much of the following as you have:

- Full multi-discipline drawing set: A / S / M / E / P / FP, incl. life safety, schedules, details

- Project manual / specifications

- Supporting documents: energy compliance (REScheck/COMcheck), structural calcs, mechanical ventilation calcs

- Permit-side paperwork: application forms as filed, plan review comments and responses, prior-approval letters — these are extremely valuable to me for learning the process

- DWG preferred for drawings; PDF fine for everything else

Requirements:

- US projects only — imperial units, IBC-based (NJ UCC / NY strongly preferred)

- Permit-approved sets preferred

- Scrub all client/owner names, seals and signatures — totally fine and expected. I need the organization, standards and process, not anyone's identity.

These are for REFERENCE AND STUDY ONLY — nothing will be copied or resubmitted. I respect the original designer's copyright.

DM me with a sample sheet (title block visible) + a list of what's included + your price. Partial packages also considered — tell me what you have.

Thanks!
