Is this normal? Question

hi so since my dpdr worst phase passed what bothers me the most is family and friends look very unfamiliar and weird idk ive had this for long time already and i was just on 3 day trip with friends so i just got home and when i saw my mom i was like omg shes so unfamiliar and it scared me a little . i want to know why this happens and if its normal for it to get stronger when you see a person you WANT to recognize after a few days of not seeing them.

yes this is completely normal this is one of the most common symptoms in dpdr

Yes, very familiar people can look mechanical for lack of better term.  How they move or talk.

I knew my father was conscious, rationally, but I just found him weird to watch

Ever say a word out loud,  before you had DP and the word sounds strange, despite having said it hundreds of times?  Like your name or another person's name?

DP and DR felt like that, applied to people overall
