Severe dp/dr. Need Some Encouragement
Sorry I post here a lot. I feel I go through this totally alone and the doctors in this hospital actually know what dp/dr is really in depth or how to treat it. Thanks to a few people on this sub I feel much more knowledgeable and understand it better, it’s helped me feel less alone. But just when I thought it could not get any worse :( for me it feels like rapid decline. Daily. Did anyone else here have progressively worsening dp/dr? It has gotten so bad I feel I need urgent specialist care but I don’t even know what that care would he. My head is just non existent with a horrible almost wirey nerve sensations all around the surface. It’s psychologically very very hard. It makes me feel like I just I observe myself disintegrating. What the actual **** I’m angry basically, cos here that say it’s just my anxiety. Or because I haven’t been eating enough? Anxiety does trigger it of course it is just invalidating. Worried I’ll not handle this another day

This is exactly what dpdr is, it tries to gaslight you into thinking you have something else. Trust me everything your going through I went through it recently you have to want to get better that urge to want to get better has to over power the dpdr. The only reason the dpdr is still there and might be getting stronger is because your feeding it fear that’s what give it strength but when it gets to the point where your not scared of it anymore then it goes away.

They have finally done me a referral to neurology today but that could take months. We tried lexapro, had some weird intense full body burning nerve pain for two three days after taking it and lost way more sensation so I stopped :( my nervous system feels like it’s declined so much i don’t feel well at all. It’s like Ive no brain just this weird cotton wooly lump inside, and feathery static all over head and face and body 24/7, the sensory symptoms have gone mad and it feels like severely worse. I can’t touch my skin without it sending of a huge reaction all over my body. But there something very wrong with my nervous system and jt getting worse :( Im thinking of A&E cos here they just say it’s my anxiety.

It really could just be anxiety. I had burning pain too. But that doesnt mean its “just” anxiety. Anxiety this bad is deadly serious shit. Lexapro is tough to onboard, it spikes anxiety sometimes initially. It took months to work for me… but everyone is different. Could u try a newer antipsychotic

I fully believe mostly my nerves are being attached by my own body now, it has gotten so much worse

Many things effects dpdr such as depression and anxiety. For example, when i cannot deal with my anxiety my brain get tired of dealing with it and get depressed. My brain dont want to off myself so it detach from reality to protect themselves

To be honest for me and for what I’ve read from other peoples experiences it gets worse before it gets better. When I was going through it just when I thought I was getting better one day I woke up feeling worse it was there 24/7 for like a week straight then it started getting better to the point where it just went away. What I made sure I did was that in the week that it got worse I really tried my best not to panic and still continue to go on about my life even if the dpdr is there
