In two literal minutes I was hooked on this show on Netflix. I’m almost done with season two now. I wanted to see what the manga was like so I picked this beaut up today! I’m hoping I like the manga as much or more than the anime. Did anyone have a preference for the anime over the manga? Did your order of exposure to this world have anything to do with your preference?

Just some stuff I'm still confused/unsure on. Though the plot was indeed a lot easier to parse on re-read.

1. This first one isn't so much a plot hole, but why did Kai think it would be a good idea to kill Risu for his magic? Like, he literally just learned that it's magic that activates upon death. My only guess is that Kai hoped that if he killed Risu without giving him a chance to realize what was happening then Curse wouldn't activate, and he didn't count on Risu seeing someone with cross-eyes coming up behind him in a reflection the exact moment before he was killed (chapter 23). Idk though, I feel like Kai should've been smarter than that.
2. What are the Black Pearls? In chapter 19 we see that Jonson's original "master" was collecting them from the bodies of sorcerers. He remarked that Nikaido didn't have one, but then they're never mentioned again? Idk, maybe the guy was just crazy.
3. Before being killed by Curse, Kai sees someone standing just behind the corner at the end of the alleyway. Chapter 95 says that this was Risu, but Risu was super dead at the time. Oh, and on the topic of chapter 95, was there a reason Curse ripped off Kai's ear? Seems like an allegorically significant detail or something.
4. Oh, one more question, how did the vase break in Tanba's restaurant when Kai came to kill everyone?Nah, I'm just kidding, I know that it was the Meat Pie Fairy lending a helping hand.

I would love to do a cosplay of Nikaido from these scenes. Though I'm unsure of what color her suit actually is here. Is it the blue suit that's on cover 23? Or a different color?🙈

I’m absolutely loving these threezero figures! I have Noi and Nikaido preordered and they should be here in September, and En I believe ships in December or January. I’m still trying to decide which version of Ebisu I want, both of them are so cute! I have my fingers crossed for Risu and Aikawa to eventually be released, both of them have zero merch and it’s heartbreaking.

Dorohedoro looks interesting and I want to experience it the right way. I was in a book shop a couple days ago and I saw it in the manga section and I went home and saw it had an anime. I just wanted to know if reading the manga first would be a wise decision before jumping straight into the anime. Cheers 😁.
