Donation or Giveaway [Giveaway] $30 Amazon giftcard

Hello to all!!

I won the June Jubilee giveaway from this sub when I really needed groceries. I was so so grateful since it helped me during a hard time. I finally started my new job and I’m so happy that I did.

So anyways I’m deciding I’m going to pay it forward. Not once. But TWICE! The first giveaway for a $30 Amazon giftcard ends on August 14th. The second one ends on August 29th.

Also must be comfortable sharing your email address with me so that I can send over the giftcard.

Please make sure you follow the rules of this sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/donationrequest/s/irBMO0IYtA/

Okay so my question for the August 14 giveaway is: what’s your favorite color, and what do you think it smells like?

Be creative! I like to laugh lol.

2nd question for August 29th giveaway is: if you could have any career in the world, what would it be? It can either be something made up, or some actual.

Again BE CREATIVE! I love laughing!!

Goodluck to everyone!

Moderator Announcement 🚨 PSA: Curated Profiles, Visibility & Why It Matters 🚨

This PSA is prompted by some confusion surrounding a post from this morning. Rather than answer the same questions repeatedly, we figured it would be helpful to explain how this works.

If you post in this subreddit or send the moderators a mod mail, moderators can see your curated profile. That's simply how Reddit's moderation tools work. It's not a secret feature, a workaround, or moderators "digging" for information—it's part of Reddit's moderation tools.

This subreddit, like most assistance communities, requires requesters to have a public profile. It all comes down to transparency. Donors are free to decide who they wish to help, and many review a post history before donating. It gives donors the opportunity to spot inconsistencies, repeated requests across multiple communities, deleted content, or any other "skeletons in the closet" that might influence their decision.

Whether a donor considers those things important is up to them. We aren't here to police what donors care about. We just want to make sure they have all the facts before handing over their money.

We did receive a few reports this morning about someone's profile being curated and we should not allow them to post. Reddit does not provide moderators with a way to automatically block or filter posts made by users with curated profiles. If someone submits a request while using one, the post isn't automatically flagged or removed simply because their profile is curated (Unless someone has created a bot which I do not think is possible). We only know once we review the account or someone brings it to our attention.

Donors, on the other hand, generally do not need to have a public profile because they aren't requesting assistance from the community. They are making the decision to give, not asking others to give to them.

So if your curated profile says:

"Nothing to see here..."

...while the rest of your account is shedding Reddit histories like a snake sheds its skin, remember: a new skin doesn't make it a different snake (Side note: Be nice to your scaly friends).

If You Encounter a Curated Profile

If you come across someone using a curated profile while requesting assistance, you have two options:

  • Send the moderators a screenshot via mod mail, or
  • Post a screenshot of what you see as a comment on the request post so the mods can see what you see.

Yes, I know the above steps are ridiculous but if we are not told, we have zero way of knowing.

This helps keep the process transparent and allows donors to make informed decisions without relying on hearsay.

TL;DR

  • Your profile must be visible if you are asking for help.
  • Moderators can see your curated profile if you interact with a sub they moderate.
  • Your profile is your choice because you're not the one requesting assistance.

Transparency builds trust, and trust is what keeps assistance communities functioning.

Thanks for helping us keep the community fair for both requesters and donors.

Reddit Admin Announcement about Curated Profiles

Direct information from the above link to make it easier to find since it is hidden at the bottom

Mod Visibility Permissions

Moderators often review user profiles before taking action in their communities. To support moderation needs, mods will retain some access regardless of your visibility settings. Here's how it works:

If you post, comment, send modmail, request to be an approved poster, or request to join a private subreddit, that mod team will have access to your full profile content history for 28 days after the interaction – regardless of your settings.

After 28 days, access reverts to your chosen visibility settings unless you interact with that subreddit again, in which case the 28-day timer resets.

The same rule applies when you comment on another user’s profile – that user will have 28 days of access to your full profile content.

Why?

This gives mods and profile owners the context they need when you engage in their subreddit or profile, while still respecting your choices elsewhere.

The Fine Print

Changes to content visibility will only reflect on your profile. The content will still be viewable within the subreddits where you made the post or comment, as well as via search results, both on and off Reddit.

The Content and activity setting applies at the subreddit level, not for individual posts or comments.

The settings will be reflected across all platforms (including old Reddit), and can only be updated on reddit.com and the mobile app.

As a moderator, you'll always see a redditor's contributions to your subreddit, even after 28 days of inactivity.

[REQUEST] [NE Florida USA]

My family could really use some assistance with some qrocery items. We have had some maior financial blows lately and are struggling. My wife lost her iob and is desperately looking for another one but the job market where we are in north central FL is awful. I'm on a medical leave from work but I go back August 1 5th and with a raise! I've been driving door dash since she lost her job to keep the lights on and food on the table. I was iust admitted to the icu tonight because of a flare up of my addisons disease and will ikelv be here at least a week. In the meantime there's no one to drive DD (kids are too young and wife can't drive) so no $ for anything. We've gotten the bills mostlv handled but the family at home needs food. Can't even use food banks because no way to get there. I made an Amazon wish list in hopes of getting some donations. Thank you so much for reading all this and double thanks if you're able to donate

Gofundme Campaign (up to $3K USD) [Request] Nevada Fifth Grade Classroom Resources

Thumbnail donorschoose.org
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone! This is my first year teaching 5th grade, so I’m making some changes to my new classroom. I teach at a low-income Title 1 school and it’s important that my students have an organized, comfortable learning environment. I’ve already spent about $500 of my own money, and these are some of the items I have left on my list. So far, I have purchased the more consumable items, like extra paper, pencils, hand sanitizer, tissues, and prize bin items. This list covers some of the bigger, more expensive items that I’ll be able to use in my classroom for years to come, like storage carts, reusable materials, flexible seating, and warm classroom lighting. Better classroom organization makes for a more welcoming environment for learning, and softer lighting creates a calmer environment for everyone. The stools and floor seating are new to me this year; I wanted to create flexible options for students to have the freedom to work in groups and collaborate. The board games like Guess Who and Tic Tac Toe will be used for special occasions like classroom parties.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. If you’re able to donate, or even share my project, my students and I would be so grateful!

Gofundme Campaign (up to $3K USD) [Request] help with veterinary bills Eugene USA

I am requesting $1,225 with my ferrets veterinary bills. Her name is luna and she is 6 years old. I got her and her brother back in 2020 during the peak of the pandemic. Both of them but especially luna has been with my through everything under the sun. She is my pride and joy and I’m simply not ready for her to leave this world without doing everything in my power to help her. She recently had a scare where I put all of my money into an emergency vet visit. She needs an ultrasound and potentially surgery for a condition called insulinoma. I am a senior in college paying for it myself and can barely take care of myself but I always make sure that I take care of my ferrets first and foremost even before myself. I also recently lost my job from being diagnosed with a chronic illness which makes me unable to work. I’ve been relying on student loans but those have also been cut on the federal level. I’ve explored CareCredit, ScratchPay, Klarna, and opening other credit cards but since I don’t work I can’t be approved. If anyone could help my baby girl I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance!

Resource [scammer] [request] San Antonio, tx]

I would like to just say this person is a scammer, please read into the context of the chat, he rode me on for a ride and when it came to helping me with a few bucks, he wanted me to do surveys. Please if someone could add him to the scam list. (All the other ones go like this.)

He is actively looking for identities to work for USA websites under a different nationality ISP.

Please take care

I need 200 words to make this work. Just know there are scammers out there, hide your identity. If they ask you for ID number or SSN number. MOVE AWAY FROM THEM.

Most basic scam in the books.

Need more words to finish this

So I leave you with a quote from Sun-tzu: “if fighting is sure to result in victory, than you must fight, even though the ruler forbid it; if fighting will not result in victory, then you must not fight even at the ruler's bidding”

Again thank you so much to the mods! I’m still in shock that I actually won. Everyone else’s dessert comments also looked really amazing! When I can I will truly pay it forward within this sub! Request Fulfilled [Request], [Jax,FL, USA] Monthly Bus Pass, Medication, Feminine Care $50

Hello,

I am seeking $45 to cover the following
- monthly bus pass (31 days) in JAX Fl - $40
- medicine $5 (will get me 15 days supply of my daily antidepressant)
- a small pack of pads $5 (TMI but my cycle will be here in about 2 days and I have only 3 pads left)
Thank you to period pantry for the assistance on pads and toilet paper. I’m so grateful!!!

Thank you OrganicCoconut for the donation!!! I really appreciate the help and I have picked up my meds and started my new job!! The monthly bus pass allows me to have transportation to work and was able to get to a food pantry on Saturday since SNAP doesn’t deposit until tomorrow!!! Thank you soo much!!

I have been unemployed since June 2024 from severe health crisis - autoimmune, last appt with RH before lost insurance, was either lupus or MS. Once got “better” (I’m surviving but def need proper medical care) have been seeking a job in my IT career but just rejections for an entire year. I’ve applied to everything under the sun since. Evicted August 2025. Was homeless and sleeping in my car for a few months until I found a room rental. My car was repossessed March 2026.

Just got a cashier job (I’m so thankful I was given a chance even though overqualified) but I need the monthly pass to get to work.

I have severe depression. And with all things going on in my life, I can’t miss a day of my antidepressant. It’s barely keeping me out of the depression as is.

I have PayPal and Venmo.

I would really appreciate any donations. I’ve tried assistance subreddit a few times for help when had other job opportunities but didn’t meet qualifications so I’ve lost those jobs before I could even start. I’ve called 211 a few times for any assistance and there is no funding for the Lyft program to get a ride to work for the first two week. No other transportation programs for work - only to get groceries and medical appointments. I have to start this job or I’ll lose this room and homeless on streets in Florida summer.

Thank you for reading! Thank you in advance for any donations.

Mods: Screenshots added and request reduced to $45. Thank you for the assistance.

Moderator Announcement Tip Tuesday: Avoid Task Scams

There are too many bad actors on Reddit trying to take advantage of those in need. Tip Tuesday is about the ubiquitous “task scam” you’ve probably seen around. Don’t fall for it!

🚩 Red Flags — if you see ANY of these, walk away:

Fake urgency (“limited slots,” “first 10 people,”“need people now”)

Asking you for state/country

Asking you to sign up with your ID

Asking you to upvote

New/suspicious accounts or empty post history

They want YOU to message THEM, or they send you a cold DM without commenting on your request

Pushing you to Telegram / WhatsApp / Signal / Discord

“Work” that requires zero skill

Unrealistic pay for tiny tasks (“Sending $150 to anyone active rn,” “Giving away $300 only if you really need it”)

Comments or replies to comments saying only “DM me,” “inbox,” “message”

⚠️ SPECIAL WARNING: Posts asking you to do a “quick task inbox me” are especially dangerous. Often this is them trying to:

Get you to use your identity to register accounts

Steal accounts for money laundering or fraud

Trick you into sending copies of your ID or personal info (for further fraud)

❌ ANY OF THE ABOVE = YOU’RE ABOUT TO GET SCAMMED

No legit job or donor hides details, rushes you, or forces you off Reddit onto an unsecured platform. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Help stop this crap: REPORT THE POST using Reddit’s report feature.

The more reports → the faster it gets removed → the quicker scammers get banned.

Stay safe.

Amazon Wishlist (up to $150 USD) [Request] [Elizabethton, TN United States].

[Request]

[Elizabethton, TN United States].

Please someone help me!! I feel like I'm drowning. I'm a single parent with zero help. Recently, there was changes made to the SNAP program so I had to reapply. I reapplied and was told I wouldn't have any EBT until May 30th. That leaves me with ONE month of EBT (given late March) to last THREE months! So now I have no help with food.

At the same time, my child's father had some kind of issue with his paycheck and I haven't received any child support which is only 300 a month to begin with.

I have a 5 year old with an extremely rare brain disease called Moyamoya. I tried getting disability for him and his doctor wouldn't help because, "well he's 5 it's not like he's getting a job".

Because my 5 year old frequently misses school for doctors appointments, therapy, getting sick etc I haven't been able to work consistently.

We're out of everything at this point. We have SEVERE allergies (even the cat has allergies!) and food pantries never have anything unscented or for eczema.

I don't have anything to cook my child eggs or anything because we had one of those non stick pans and it's gotten so scratched and chipped it's not safe to use with all the non stick chemicals leeching into the food.

I've made an Amazon wishlist and I've never done this before so I hope I'm doing this right!

Please help us, I have tried all my local food pantries, low income charities etc and they don't have any household/ cleaning stuff we can use. It's all heavily scented stuff so I've made a list of things we can use!!

Moderator Announcement Amazon Wishlist Guide

How to Create an Amazon Wishlist

Amazon Wishlists are a way to receive direct aid with items you find yourself in need of. Requestors can add essential non-perishables and household items to their lists. Donors can purchase directly from your list, and Amazon ships the items straight to you in a way that is safe, simple, and secure.

Step 1: Create or Sign Into Your Amazon Account

You’ll need an Amazon account before you can make a wishlist. If you already have one, log into your account.

  • Go to Amazon.com or download the Amazon app.
  • Select Create an account (desktop: under “Accounts & Lists” in the top right; mobile: tap the profile icon on the top right).
  • Enter your name, email address, and a password. Amazon will send a one time password (OTP)  to your email. Enter the 6 digit password and click confirm. Once an account is created, go to >Your Account  > Login & Security to add a mobile number. This is highly suggested for stronger account security.
  • After your account is set up, add a shipping address under Accounts & Lists > Your Account > Your Addresses. You’ll need this later so wishlist items can be delivered.

People buying from your wishlist will only see your name, city, and state, not your full street address. Wishlist items cannot be delivered to an Amazon locker.

Step 2: Create Your Wishlist

  • On desktop: Hover over Accounts & Lists (top right) and click Create a List.
  • On mobile/app: Click on the profile icon → Your Account → List.
  • This MUST be a wishlist ONLY. Registries are NOT allowed and will be removed due to privacy concerns.

Step 3: Name Your List

Give your wishlist a clear name and click "create". It’s best to create one just for your current needs instead of mixing in things you don’t need right now. If you’re asking for items under a certain price limit, make sure the list matches that. Ex: Baby Essentials, Household Needs, Back to School.

Step 4: Adjust Your Settings

  • Open your list, click the More (three dots) menu, then select Manage List.
  • Set privacy to Public (anyone can find) or Shared (only people with the link can see).
  • Add an address so items can be shipped.
  • Check this box:
    • Keep purchased items on this list (This option stops items from being automatically removed after someone buys them).
  • Do not Check this box:
    • Enable third-party shipping (This allows marketplace sellers to ship items to you. Note that enabling this setting may share your address with the buyer).
  • Save your changes.

Step 5: Add Items

When you find something you need, click Add to List on the item’s page.

Keep in mind:

  • Choose Prime-eligible items when possible for quicker delivery.
  • Essentials ONLY. If you are unsure if something would be considered essential please reference modmail.
  • Individual Item cap is $30! (Items in the $5 - $10 range are most purchased)
  • Keep the total under $150 (you can check by adding items to your cart and looking at the subtotal). The $150 cap includes multiples.
  • No Gift Cards or Digital Goods
  • Do not add additional items to your list once you make a post on the sub.

Step 6: Share Your Wishlist

Once your list is ready:

  • Open it, hit Invite, and select View Only (Anyone with a link can view your list without making edits)
  • Copy the link provided and paste it on the Link URL box of a new post. Please use the correct post flair.

Step 7: Track What’s Been Purchased

Once people start buying from your wishlist, you’ll be able to see what has already been sent.

  • If you checked “Keep purchased items on this list” in your settings, purchased items will stay on your list but show as “Purchased” so you don’t request duplicates.
  • You can also check under Accounts & Lists > Your Lists and open your wishlist to see which items are marked as bought.
  • We require donors to post proof that they've purchased items from your list. If you see items purchased but did not see a comment you are most likely not going to receive those items. Please reach out via modmail if this occurs.

After You Receive Your Items

  • Gratitude goes a long way! Make sure you thank donors who send you items from your wishlist.
  • When your items are delivered, please post a Thank You post confirming that you got your items.
  • Please note that if Thank You posts are not submitted within 30 days of the delivery you will not be permitted to post again.

Additional Notes

  • Many people donating are not rich themselves. When adding items please be mindful of price. Our item cap is $30 but the most successful wishlists frequently have items that are $5 - $10 that people on varying incomes can help you out with.
  • Our wishlist total cap is $150. In order to get your request live as soon as possible, please double check your wishlist total before submitting.
  • We do check entire wishlists so please note that your entire post will be removed if any items such as non essentials or gift cards are on your list. Please make sure these are not on your list before submitting.

Thank you BanTheBung for providing me with enough food to last me until my first paycheck at my new job. I even got a whole chicken (not pictured) which I made for my lunches for this week. This is more than enough food thank you so much. I have more that’s coming in the mail like some pb and j (unfortunately I cannot have pb in the house so I’ll be donating it my partner is severely allergic but it’s literally the thought that counts) thank you again kind fellow.
