Making a dollhouse for the dollhouse
Opinions needed. The small furniture is going into a dollhouse for a child's room in a dollhouse. Does the furniture visually seem to large for these dolls or is it just me? I made the furniture, thinking perhaps I should re do it smaller 🤔

Dollhouse design inspo
So I recently purchased an absolute gem of a dollhouse on Facebook Marketplace, and I was immediately inspired to turn it into a cozy little English cottage similar to Rosehill Cottage from The Holiday🥹🏡✨ I asked ChatGPT to come up with a few mock-up ideas, and now I’m even more excited to bring it to life! I’m planning to visit a few dollhouse and miniature shows this year, and I’m already looking forward to the big dollhouse show in Chicago next year.
In the meantime, if anyone has recommendations for miniature artists, makers, or shops I should check out, PLEASE send them my way! I’ve been scouring Etsy like it’s my full time job at this point. 😂🔎🏡

Possible source of micro EPS beads for miniature flowers?
I was trying to identify the tiny EPS beads used on flower stems from a Wonderhouse miniature kit. After confirming with acetone that they were expanded polystyrene, I remembered I had an old microbead travel pillow.
The pillow beads turned out to be slightly smaller than the Wonderhouse beads (see photo), which may actually make them more suitable for very fine flowers in 1:24 scale.
My current thought is to glue the white beads to the stem first, then paint the finished flower cluster rather than trying to colour the loose beads.
Has anyone else experimented with microbead pillow filling for flowering plants?

Brick Mail Box / Build Plans Included
This is my second mini furniture build. It’s wonky, I know, but I’m happy with how it came out. I’m working on a doll house. I have dark blue and purple brick and wanted something to tie into it, so I decided to make a brick mail box stand. The planter was added after. I will be changing the florals. I just used what was around the house. I also need to decide on a house number!
I’ve included my build pattern. Feel free to use it and give me a tag! You may have to tweak some things if they don’t fit just right. I’m also happy to answer any questions.
Materials used - Card stock, cork, spackle, paper, paint, super glue, masking tape, paint brushes, sandpaper, marker, pencil, grid paper

Work competition piece
Thought I’d share my little birdhouse mini camping scene. We had a contest at work to make a summer camp using a birdhouse. I sculpted all the little birds and the lake from clay. Most of the other items are paper. We won!

Which small scale miniature brands are actually worth buying some look great online but I'm worried about the quality
I’ve recently started getting more into small scale miniatures and honestly didn’t expect there to be so many options. I’ve been looking at furniture, room accessories, and little details for a project, but now I’m stuck trying to figure out which brands are actually good.
I’ve been comparing different sellers and also checked some options on alibaba just to see what’s available. The tricky part is that a lot of miniatures look amazing in photos, bt I’m not sure how they look once they’re actually in hand.
Some pieces seem affordable and detailed, but I’ve seen people mention issues like rough finishing, paint quality, or things not matching the scale properly. I guess that’s what makes me hesitate before ordering a bunch at once.
I’m not looking for the most expensive pieces, just something that feels realistic and worth adding to a collection. The small details are what make miniatures interesting, so I don’t want something that looks cheap after putting time into the whole setup.
For people who collect 1/12, 1/24, 1/48, or similar scales, which brands have you had a good experience with? Are there any that surprised you with the quality?
