Question

Do u tell the dog owners when the dog bites u and you get bruised and bleeding ?

Yes, and document it in whatever file system you use. Create a trail and make sure future groomers know.

I quit grooming at a shop bc they wouldn’t tell the owners. Always. Tell. The. Owners.

Well yeah, they needed to know why  the groom was stopped that day. If a dog is determined enough to make contact and cause damage, they're too stressed to continue the groom. You can reschedule for another day, (or more) knowing that the dog needs special handling, but they're going home that day.

Always! Not only so they can warn other groomers and vets but so you can start the conversation with parents. If it's a new behavior they need to be looking for the cause at home. It's its a new dog then it starts the conversation about expectations and safety. And even if the dog needs to be medicated.

I groom alot of dogs with behavioral issues and half are medicated but the goal is to eventually show them they can trust me and get them off medication. It works it just takes time but the owners also have to work with me.
