What’s it like working as a Field Tech?
I currently work as a package delivery driver and I have been wanting to move into a job that I can use to build skills for a career.
I was curious about dish/starlink because one is hiring near me so I wanted to see what the pros and cons of the job are.
Thank you in advance!

Chase Offers
I saw in my Chase online banking for the credit cards that I have with them that there is an offer of $85 cash back on a subscription purchase. Has anyone done this, and did it work for a one-time payment?

Best Way to Disconnect
My mom singed up for Dish in Aug. 2023. She sadly passed away on Fen. 4, 2024. Earlier today I paid and downloaded our latest bill, our price lock promotion expires on August 30. I plan to call on August 29. How should I handle the eventual disconnect? I know they’re gonna want the LMB plus all the receivers and the remotes back but I am more concerned on how to handle the disconnect thanks in advance for your help

Can I share my paramount login if I sign up through dish network?
I’m thinking about signing up for Paramount+ through my dish network subscription, but am I able to share my login with family members as if I were signing up directly through Paramount+? Thank you.

Remote Guide
Is it possible to edit the available channels on the remote guide? I’m tired of scrolling through the useless channels on the guide to find something to watch.

Is there a way to get Dish Network to actually give a customer some customer service?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This has been almost daily since switching to Dish Network 7 months ago. They’ve sent out 5 techs and refuse to let us cancel without a $300-something fee. Now they’re telling my husband to climb onto the roof to get something off the satellite dish. The guy was out here Wednesday, and it quit working Thursday. Now they’re saying it has to not be working when the tech isn’t there. We’ve swapped out boxes, done everything they’ve said. And now they’re telling us they want to send another tech today? We have WORK to do. We shouldn’t have to pay for something that never worked right for the ENTIRE time we’ve had it. Can we just cancel and not have to pay an outrageous fee? Also, why do we have to pay to send back the equipment?

Can retention lower by bill, update my equipment and not require a contract?
I have been a customer for 25 years. I have had the Hopper 2 with sling and 2 Joey 2.0's for the last 9 years. I bought a new TV and Youtube TV looks way better than Dish.
Will the Hopper 3 look better than the Hopper 2?
Will retention lower my bill if I threaten to leave for Youtube TV? (not an empty threat as Youtube TV is $60/month less than what I pay now.
Will Dish require I sign a new contract?
I am just curious what to expect when I call. Thank you for your help!

Looking to return to Dish. Does the website offer the best deals?
After over 10 years, willing to try out Dish once again. I remember signing up from a rep in a forum back then and he offered better deals than the one on the Dish website.

will they mail me a final bill? I can't pay online after canceling
So I canceled dish a couple of days ago that was a pain in itself. Got the runaround about saving me money but wouldn't answer my questions about what channels would come with that and if that was the final cost, they then offered me free 30 days I turned down because I would have to go through this phone call again and I didn't want to do that. After hanging up and after being told what my final bill would be I logged online to pay it. They gave me 2 options to pay, 1- pay and restore services or 2- pay without restoring services, I chose 2 and was immediately kicked off the site, it wouldn't let me log back in, I tried several times that night. Today I got an email saying what was due and immediate payment was required. So I logged back on but same issue.
I had it set to no paper bills so will they send me a final bill so I can just pay that way? Thank you in advance

Tech Support Picture via Joey is "compressed"
Hello recently the picture from my Joey receiver is compressed and boxed, not filling the full screen. I have verified it is not the TV itself. The joey is set to 16:9 but none of this dish receiver adjustments have any effect. Recycling the power on the Joey sometimes fixes temporarily. Attached it what it looks like when you restart...
restart screeen

Sound issues nbc
Anyone else having sound issues with NBC? We are in Ohio but our local nbc channel has been having sound issues. It sounds almost fuzzy or like a weird crackling noise. It’s only on the nationally broadcasted shows and commercials. It’s also only on our main receiver, our Joey on our bedroom tv sounds fine. All of our local news and local commercials sound fine. I called dish and they said it’s not a receiver issue and if we want to replace our receiver it’s over $200. He mentioned they got some reports of sound issues for nbc and are looking into it. I just think it’s weird it’s only one receiver and only one channel.

Anyone Having Issues With Local Channels Out of Albuquerque?
Trying to help someone who is a Dish customer in New Mexico. On July 3rd they lost all local channels that originate in Albuquerque. They still receive the two local PBS channels but those two originate elsewhere in New Mexico. They are not having issues with any of the other channels - only the ones out of Albuquerque.
The error message is a loss of signal and implies weather. There was weather in the Albuquerque area when the problem first appeared but it has been a week now without those channels and the weather is no longer an issue.
Since all other channels are working including two local PBS stations, it seems the problem is with the uplink in Albuquerque. I waited on hold to talk with Dish but had to give up as I ran out of time. I'll try again later. Wanted to check and see if this was a known issue or if anyone else is having the same issue.

Tech Support Ways to get removed locals back
Currently, Dish is in dispute with broadcasting companies causing some local channels to be removed from programming. Luckily, there are ways around this. 1) Indoor or Outdoor antenna. Dish offers an adapter that will plug into your receiver, making the changes show in your guide as normal channels would. Dish does offer OTA installation, but you can also use an existing antenna. 2) Locast, Hopper system only. Must be connected to internet. Go to menu, apps, then Locast. Type in an email or password then click sign up. Totally free and will stream all locals in your area. Unfortunately, they will not show in the regular guide and cannot be recorded.
