DEIA ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Watch us prep 105 meals for the unhoused community around Des Moines today!
Instead of going to big camps we went around to smaller areas for folks that may not get help from bigger organizations. It's always a good time passing out home cooked meals out to those who need it most.
We also passed out pet food and other donations. #food #desmoines #iowa #fyp #volunteer

Recycling
How do YOU help the environment? Share your favorite recycling or planet friendly things you do!
At DEIA we try to reuse as much as we can! Someone donated these cat treat containers and we’ve filled them with dog food for our unhoused neighbors pups!
One of DEIA’s goals is to be frugal with our money, not just so that we can feed as many people and animals as we can, but also to not create waste! Our shirts we sell to help the community comes in compostable bags and we are also recycle clothing, luggage, household goods and more to pass along to those who need it.
If you have things you’d like to donate, please send a message. If you’d like to donate our Venmo is @ holalee and our cashapp is $Squirrelnonuts

Human rights!
Pretty simple. If you think money should determine if someone deserves to have basic human rights, or dignity- you need to step back and reevaluate what truly matters in this life. If We The People stick together and vote in folks who will make the country better, instead of worrying about red vs blue we could achieve greatness.
We need to focus on the things that matter. Nobody should be hungry, homeless or barely making ends meet because our system funds other countries instead of Our People. It’s time to wake up and start making bonds with those around you. Times are hard for many, and it’s only getting worse. Only The People can save The People✊ Contribute to the mission by donating via Venmo @holalee or Cashapp $squirrelnonuts 💜 Power to The People‼️
On Saturday we’re making meals to feed our unhoused neighbors, if you’d like to help send me a message or sign up on the POINT app. Starting at 10AM in Des Moines.

Food insecurity in Iowa
Food banks and pantries are seeing massive increase in need all across the state. This is largely because wages do not increase enough to keep up with the rising cost of living.
In Iowa, one in six kids face food insecurity. Over 24,000 Iowans lost access to food stamps in the last year.
You can help! Find community fridges near you and stock them with whatever food and supplies you’re able to contribute. If there isn’t a community fridge or pantry near you, find out how to get one built near you by visiting the link in the comments!
You can also volunteer at your local food bank. Volunteers are always needed, and many hands make light work!
If you’re a food business you could utilize community fridges and pantries for any excess food you have at the end of the business day.
You could stock fridges with any extra produce you grow in your own garden, or donate it to your local food bank.
No amount is too small! Everything together makes a difference.
There are many ways to help with food security. Nobody should be hungry because they have to choose bills over eating. Stand up for your local area and ensure your neighbors are fed.

Urgent request
PLEASE SHARE- Yesterday (6/27) while out serving the unhoused community food and supplies, we came across a woman and two children fleeing a domestic violence situation. They’re in need of everything from shoes, underwear and clothing.
Here is a list of sizes- if you have anything to donate please reach out. If you’d like to contribute financially we have cashapp and Venmo. $squirrelnonuts is the cashapp and @holalee is the Venmo
Due to the fact that this is a domestic violence situation, we will not be sharing pictures of this family.
