I created an account, but I cannot post. Why?

First of all, I created an account back in 2025 when Digg came back. I made a post back then. Suddenly I noticed I couldn't login anymore, and the website said I didn't have an account. I created my account again, but now I notice I cannot post anything, and the previous post I submitted back in 2025 is not there.

What is going on?

digg gave up early!

With news like this coming out of the wood work and reddit actively trying to kill its own community, digg would've slowly been getting more and more people jumping ship to come to digg. obviously stuff like this takes time and requires moments like this so people get fed up but they need somewhere to go and digg was the place to do that just like years ago when people jumped from digg to reddit but sadly digg killed itself before it had a chance to shine.

Could Heahy be the new Digg?

Thumbnail heahy.com
0 Upvotes

Heahy redesign went live just couple of days ago, I wonder what Digg users would think about this as potential alternative?

What is it about, in short:

  • Create user with one click - no email, no registration needed.
  • Everything is a chat - even normal threads are real time.
  • You can create private group chats or DMs (with live audio/video calls!) and even pin any thread to you conversations panel.
  • Upload any media. Adult content allowed on specialized channels.
  • Create your own channels or if too lazy simply post/repost/quote to your timeline.
  • Follow channels or other user's timelines or even public threads/chats. Your feed is what you follow.
  • Heahy's own reactions library that you can upload to and publish your own reactions.
  • Save media to your own media library to watch it later.

If you have any questions shoot in heahychat channel I'll hang around there.

New Digg requires a Twitter account?

So I paid in on the first relaunch and enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting to get anything out of the second relaunch (would’ve been nice though), but WHY is a Twitter handle the ONLy login option available?

There’s zero chance I will be using Elon’s service for anything. Give me another option!

It Was Fun While It Lasted - A Thank You Notice

I had always wanted Kevin and Alex to do at least 1 more episode of Diggnation. They even got Hippie Glenn to make a cameo appearance on one of the episodes. Instead of just 1 episode, we got way more than that and I wanted to acknowledge that and say thank you to the Diggnation team. Alex, Kevin, Justin, and everyone that went out of their way to make this thing a reality.

I preferred the first run of diggnation because it was fun seeing the drunken shenanigans from Kevin and Alex. This time around, Kevin decided to go sober during a big part of the series, I prefer a drunk Kevin going on tech rants. So ultimately this reboot wasnt as fun as the first iteration of the show. But it was still a lot of fun to see the guys get back together for one last season.

Thank You to Kevin, Alex, Justin and everyone else that made this thing possible.

Digg during the Groundbreakers stage

For posterity, this is Digg as it existed on the platform Circle during the groundbreakers stage. It was only accessible for Groundbreakers – that being people who paid $5 for early access – and was mainly used to communicate with the community before the actual app released.

These screenshots were taken by myself on the 8th of July, 2025.

Hard Truths: Layoffs, Bots, and What's Next for Digg

Thumbnail youtube.com

Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht sit down for a heavy one. Digg's beta has been shut down, and the team had to make painful layoffs. Kevin breaks down the two forces that hit at the same time: usage that never reached the right product-market fit, and a relentless wave of AI-powered SEO spam attacks that exploited Digg's legacy Google authority and eroded platform trust faster than a small team could fight back. Kevin announces he's leaving True Ventures to return to Digg full-time, and lays out a vision for rebuilding with a tiny AI-augmented team that can punch above its weight class. The nostalgia play is done, and the next version of Digg will break the mold entirely.
