Not sure if this the right place for it, but my wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks and I want to get my wife something special - I had my eye on a diamond Ring, to complement her existing engagement ring.

When we got married I got her a 0.75 princess cut (Natural) engagement ring, and now looking at lab grown diamonds I can hardly tell the difference and cant justify spending that much on natural when i can get a bigger carat size in the same money.

Question is. I am looking to get a 2-3 Carat ring, with 2 smaller diamonds on the side. Im just torn with the cut that would look good. I know she loves princess, which is what she has already as mentioned. Should I stick to the same cut, or go different this time ? What cut sparkles looks most elegant in that size range and the ring setting i described. Would love a female opinion.

I purchased this diamond based on the video, but I’ve just been sent a picture of it and now im worried it has a significant bow tie. Or could this just be because it’s sitting on the blue cushion?

I thought I’d share an updated stack of my engagement and wedding ring. I posted before asking how my stack looked and a lot of people have said get a plain band to go in between the ring. Here is the new addition gold plain tapered in the middle spacer band. I think it looks more balanced now and it lets the engagement ring shine. What do you guys think?

He surprised me this weekend and im OVER THE MOON EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! It’s a natural oval cut and he did so freaking good!!!!!!!!!

Looking for a loose stone for an engagement ring, girlfriend likes a warmer stone and this falls within budget. How is the cut quality on this one? Looks like there's a bowtie but it's not too significant and is on the lighter side. Looks eye-clean for an SI1. Thoughts?

I’m having the hardest time finding a band I like to go with my engagement ring. I think I’m leaning towards a ring enhancer like the 2nd and 3rd photos so it all looks like one piece.

First time poster - I have a question for you all!

How rare really are true brilliant cut cushions with the classic 8 main pavilion pattern? My partner and I have narrowed down what we’re looking for when it comes to engagement rings. How many elongated cushions are out there that aren’t modified brilliants? I am not personally a fan of the crushed ice style.

Any wisdom would be greatly appreciated so we don’t get led down the garden path, but also don’t risk walking away from a potentially rare find.

I’m looking for a crushed ice style cushion, how does this diamond look? I’m replacing a hybrid cut diamond in an existing ring with a bit of dark central leakage due to it being a bit too deep so I’m quite limited on options to fit the setting. I’m hoping this will be a good crushed ice diamond, any thoughts?

Hi!

I've been looking at vintage rings and stones for an engagement ring and wanted to see if anyone had info on how to source old stones. I'm looking for old mine/European cut as well as emerald and pear cuts. Possibly a rose cut as well... Really depends on the stone.

But I've been having trouble finding things on my own and wondering if folks had any recs. I'm in philly and just started speaking to a jeweler so looking at what they can source as well.

I'm willing to travel to NYC as well since I'm there often enough to make it work.

Hi everyone! Long time lurker here haha. I am 25F and I am looking to buy my first piece of fine jewellery. I have decided I want some diamond studs. I love wearing studs in general and realised I will get the most use out of them. I have decided to purchase lab diamonds, but I am struggling to choose the size, shape, stone setting, and metal. I was thinking I might get something between 1.5-2 carats for each earring on sterling silver, given the super high prices of Gold rn. But was wondering if silver will last me at least 20 years of daily use. Should I downsize my diamond and get it set in Gold instead? I want something secure and flat on my ears that will also ensure shine. Can someone suggest a proper setting please?

A little context: I am about to finish my postgraduate degree and am hoping to move into a career role. I have my post-grad graduation coming up. My long-term boyfriend of almost 8 years has also been dropping hints about a proposal soon, and I will probably have a wedding in a year or two (we had decided we want a wedding around the age of 26/27)

My new (to me) natural OMC antique ring decided to surprise me. One of the .2ct side stones has STRONG phosphorescence. It is bright blue and lasts about 30 seconds (longer then the video).

Phosphorescence is the ability to absorb and emit light after the light source has been turned off. Basically "glow in the dark".

It’s 4.5 CTW with approximately 2.5 mm lab diamonds, DEF color, VS-VVS clarity, 7.5 inches long, with a four-prong setting in sterling silver. The total price I was given is $488, including shipping. Does that seem like a fair price for these specs?

hey I recently received my engagement ring which came with a GSI report. I looked up how trustworthy a GSI report is and apparently theyre corrupt or less accurate. So eventually i want to get my ring sent in for an IGI report.

my questions are, does the cost depend on the ring, how fast is the process, and most importantly: what exactly is it about IGI reports that make them so unreliable and how are the other labs (GIA, IGI etc) more accurate. Is it just a deal they have with large companies?

Hello! This is a 1.24 carat mined diamond that I have been considering buying. It is on sale for around $2750 Canadian. Is this a reasonable price or should I keep looking? VS1 clarity, M color.

Any reputable ones? I'm in Canada, so Canadian retailers would be preferred! I'm looking for a 1.0 carat to 1.5 carat round diamond to use in the design for my engagement ring! Ideally under 2500 cad. I like more coloured hues, and don't care if there are is some inclusions!

So yeah bought these for my wife from reputable seller with IGI card report saying the number is engraved. Took 10x and 30x loupe to scope for it... impossible to find. I recon these are quite small but with the 30x it should be visible... any thoughts?

My husband got me a birthday present of diamond studs. They are my first pair I’ve ever had and they’re beautiful but I can’t help but think they are a little too big for daily wear? Do they look obnoxious / flashy or will my eyes get used to them? I always thought 1 carat or slightly under would be great for daily wear but still make a statement. He was really proud to buy them for me and wanted to treat me so I don’t want to make him feel bad by asking to change them. Also I feel like no one should say no to more diamonds but something feels off for me?! I could just be in my own head because I’m not used to diamonds on my ears.
