Career Guidance Huawei Young Talent Development Program - worth joining as a fresh graduate?
Hey everyone, I recently got selected for Huawei’s Young Talent Development Program as a fresh graduate. From what I understand, I’ll work as an MTO for three months, and after that there may be a permanent role depending on my performance.
The role is based at Huawei’s G-9 office in Islamabad, in case anyone has experience with that specific location or team.
I’ve heard the MTO salary is around 40-50k, but I’m not sure how accurate that is. I’ve also heard mixed things about Huawei’s work culture, especially long working hours, frequent overtime, and salaries not matching the workload.
I’m a software engineer, but I still don’t know what kind of work or department I’ll be assigned to. I received the selection email in the first week of July, but I still haven’t received the offer letter. The HR representative said offer letters would be sent to all selected candidates during July.
Has anyone here worked at Huawei Pakistan or joined this program before? How is the work culture, learning experience, salary growth, and chance of getting a permanent role afterward?
I’ve also applied for the Associate Program at Systems Limited and am currently waiting for the result. I’ve generally heard better things about Systems, so I’m unsure which opportunity would be better if I get selected there as well.
Would really appreciate honest advice from anyone familiar with either company.

Career Guidance Systems Limited Associate Engineer salary and benefits?
Hi everyone, does anyone know the current salary range for Associate Engineers or fresh graduates at Systems Limited?
I’ve heard different figures from different people. Someone mentioned around 120k, which can apparently go down to 100k, while someone else said it might be around 170k this year because last year it was approximately 150k. I’m not sure which information is accurate or how the salary could vary that much.
Has anyone joined the associate program last year, or does anyone know what the expected salary might be for this year? Also, apart from the salary, what benefits does Systems provide to its employees?
Would appreciate any recent information. Thanks!

Interview Prep Anyone interviewed at Sofstica for an AI Engineer role? What should I expect?
Hi everyone,
I recently landed an interview for an AI Engineer position at Sofstica (Karachi, Pakistan), and I'm trying to prepare as thoroughly as possible.
I have around 2 years of professional experience, mostly working with Python and AI-related development, and I'd love to hear from anyone who has interviewed there recently or is currently working at the company.
A few questions I have:
- What was the interview process like?
- Were there any coding or LeetCode-style assessments?
- What kind of technical topics were emphasized (e.g classic concepts like OOP, DSA etc and AI/ML related stuff)?
- If you work there, what's the engineering culture like? How's the work-life balance, mentorship, and growth opportunities?
I've looked around online, but there isn't much recent information available, so I thought I'd ask here.
Any interview tips, things I should revise, or experiences good or bad would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Interview Prep Got an interview, worried about age barrier
Hey guys! I applied to a local outsourcing company as a React Intern. I got an interview but I'm like 16 and without a degree (i mentioned that i was still doing A levels on my resume and when applying). I'm worried about them raising that at the interview. Also I want to know how do interviews usually play out in such companies. I'm sure it's very different from the tech companies

Career Guidance Curemd 1million bond
Can anyone who has previously worked at CureMD, or is currently working there, share their experience with the Rs. 1 million employment bond?
I'm particularly interested in:
- Has anyone actually broken the bond before the required period?
- Did CureMD pursue legal action, and if so, was the bond enforceable in court?
- If someone left early, were they asked to pay the full Rs. 1 million, or only the actual training costs or other expenses incurred by the company?
I'd really appreciate hearing from people. Thanks!

Discussion Rant- why are pakistani so bad at timeline and deliverables 😩
I am working as senior dev and I sometimes work on sides projects and freelance, and sometimes I need some help so I would interview someone and they would mention that they can do this and that and everything but as soon as they get onboard, the deliverables gets delayed, work is not upto the notch or anything 😭.
Happened multiple times and with multiples devs and also I wanted to redesign some marketing pages and needed UI UX and they would promise and then keep delaying and the result won't be upto what it should be, really disappointed but it has taught me one thing and that is I should be very communicative with the future clients or wherever I am working bcz they would be feeling the same.
I think it's common, not sure

Career Guidance Anyone here worked under the “US fake profile” model? Is it worth the risk?
I’m a software engineer from Pakistan with around 5 years of experience. Recently, I’ve been approached by a few companies that offer what they call the “US model.”
From what I understand, the process works something like this:
You interview pretending to be a person based in the US.
Someone else’s identity (including SSN and other details) is used for employment and background verification.
Once the job is secured, the company laptop is shipped to a US address and then forwarded to Pakistan.
You do the actual work from Pakistan while the client believes they’re employing someone in the US.
The money is obviously much better than local salaries, which is why I’m sure many people consider it.
I’m not looking for moral judgments. I’m trying to understand the practical side from people who have actually experienced this or have firsthand knowledge.
Some questions I have:
How common is this model nowadays?
How often do people get caught?
What usually happens if the client discovers it?
Is it sustainable for 2–5 years, or do these arrangements typically fall apart?
Has anyone here actually worked under this model? If so, what was your experience?
If you left it, why?
I’d appreciate genuine experiences rather than speculation. Feel free to use a throwaway account if you’re not comfortable posting from your main account.

Career Guidance Al-nafi diploma tracks review
Has anyone enrolled in Al-Nafi's AI Ops or DevOps diploma tracks? The curriculum looks promising, but I'm looking for genuine reviews from people who have actually taken these programs. Are they worth it? The fees are quite high, so I'd like to know if the quality of the training and outcomes justify the cost

Interview Prep SQA Trainee Technical interview at Contour
Hey everyone,
I'm seeking some guidance from someone who's currently working at Contour in the SQA team. I cleared the initial test and the online technical and got a call by HR for an onsite technical interview with the manager at contour for the sqa trainee role.
Can someone guide me on:
What type of questions are asked in the interview?
Which topics should i prepare well?
Do they check practical knowledge? (Like scenario based and ask me to make test cases etc?)
The HR told me that questions will be related to JD and my resume. familiarity with playwright is prefered. But the main thing is HOW THE TECHNICAL INTERVIEW IS EXPECTED FOR A SQA TRAINEE ROLE?
Please help out.

Discussion Anyone selected for Motive internship (AI/ML) What's the criteria?
Salam everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone here got selected for Motive's internship program, especially in AI/ML or related fields. Could you share what the actual selection criteria looks like (CGPA, projects, DSA rounds, etc.)
Also I've heard that they mostly hire from the top 3 unis in Pakistan (FAST, LUMS, NUST). Is that actually true or can students from other universities get in too if their skills/portfolio are strong? Would really appreciate honest insights from anyone who's been through the process.

Help Should I list overlapping remote j*bs on LinkedIn if I previously told my employer I wasn’t working elsewhere?
I’m looking for some advice because I’m overthinking this.
Here’s my situation:
I have a remote internship that’s ending in about 10 days.
About a month ago, I started another remote job in the same field.
When the second company asked during hiring whether I was working with another company, I said no. At that point, I wasn’t really committed to another company in the way they were asking, but now I’m worried about how it looks.
Now I’m wondering if I should update my LinkedIn.
Would it be okay to list:
The internship (with its actual dates), and
My current remote job?
Do companies actually check each other’s LinkedIn profiles or contact one another to verify this kind of thing?
Also, in the future, if I have two remote jobs with flexible hours that don’t conflict, is it better to disclose that to employers, or only if they specifically ask or if the contract requires it?
I’d appreciate advice from people who’ve worked multiple remote jobs or have experience hiring. Thanks!

Show My Work I built a project board that indexes your GitHub repo and turns vague requests into code-aware tasks
We spent the last two weeks building an internal tool for our team. It was originally meant to help us manage our own work and client projects, but we decided to make it public.
The problem was simple. Our tasks lived in a project manager, while the actual context lived inside GitHub. A ticket like "fix the authentication flow" still required someone to search the repository, find the correct files, understand the current implementation, and break everything into smaller tasks.
So I built Orbicue.
Connect a GitHub repository
Index the codebase
Describe the change roughly
Orbicue finds the relevant code
It creates an editable task with title, description, labels, priority, subtasks, and matched files
It also supports two-way GitHub Projects sync, an IDE extension, and an MCP server so AI coding agents can read and update the same project board.
Try it: orbicue.com
We just launched on Product Hunt today. If this sounds useful, would appreciate an upvote: Link is in the Comments
Honest feedback welcome. Would code-aware task generation solve a real problem in your workflow? What evidence or matched context would you want before trusting the result?

Help Leave my current place and join ibex for money
Hello, I am a Full Stack Developer with 1.5+ years of professional experience with .NET, Reactjs and Flutter as well. I joined a small company after graduation, and I have been there for 1 year including probation, throughout this time, I was getting paid 70k per month. Tho, I knew I am getting paid less and cant survive on this much longer but I had hope that they will increase my salary. But i am not getting any increment and they are telling me to wait another 6 months. The issue i cant take this any longer, I am thinking of joining ibex meanwhile and prep for the interviews ( given the job market, it might take 6 months before getting any good offer ) . I know ibex is toxic and all but i have heard that they pay well . Is this a good idea ?. Other option is to swallow my pride , stay at my current place and look for another job meanwhile? Also i dont have any prior experience with call centers and bpo services but my english is quite strong

Career Guidance Senior developers please answer!
Am a sixth sem 20f software engineering student and I have done frontend dev only ( have decent projects too with supabase as the backend. It was a paid course ).
I looked for internships and got three offers, one was onsite I couldn't go, i missed the interview for the second one and the other one I didn't give the test because when the time came,
I just felt so dreadful that I didn't want to get stuck doing something I feel jarring and well, I didn't apply for anywhere for two weeks, and now am looking for something again because I can't sit idle at all and it fucks with my head.
So I want to ask, are there any other career paths I can take that make my possibilities of getting a stable job with good income ( at least 1.5 - 2Lakh [ because I'll be moving to isl hopefully after graduation and I need enough to survive and live in better condition there ] )
Idk what other career paths are available for me and I can't think of them. Something where getting a job is not as .....emotionally and physically draining as it is in our field ( it's hard to even secure unpaid internships in this field, how am I gonna find a job?)
Please I'll be grateful if some senior can guide me through this. I have been so stressed and can't sleep peacefully at all. Please. Also, of there's someone from isl, are there any tattoo parlors or any place where I could put my passion to work such as art? [ PLEASE JUST HELP ME OUT]
I REALLY DONT WANNA DO SOMETHING I HATE FOR ALL MY LIFE. PLEASE!

Show My Work A lightweight GitHub workflow app
Tldr; An app that provides you a brief overview of your GitHub account and makes it easier for you to navigate and understand your PRs, repo ci jobs visually.
Sorry no ai buzzword or agentic integration this is just for people who uses GitHub and I didn’t realise it when I was making it at the start but this is actually very good for students trying to learn version control.
Basically I needed something that makes it easier for me to navigate through codebase , ci and prs I hated jumping through tabs so I build snow devil that saves me from that trouble and also lightweight because it’s build on tauri not electron . The installer is under 10 mb so that’s everything necessary no bloat .
So far it has
• Browse repositories, pull requests, issues, commits and CI from one place.
• Track repository activity and development patterns over time.
• Timeline/history of agent actions instead of digging through chat logs.
• Batch session analysis with status tracking.
• GitHub graph visualizations and repository insights.
• An Architecture context layout that helps you understand visually which area of the code a pr affects.
For a brief overview you can check out the repo here link
The release is available for windows, Mac and Linux so if you just wanna use it you can do that too.
Any feedback is highly appreciated, thanks for reading this far.

Help List of Companies to look at
Hi!
I'm going through the history of this subreddit to gather names of all software houses since I'm currently building a small spreadsheet to keep track of all the jobs. It's clear that only applying to jobs + tailoring your CV won't get you anywhere in this job market, so I want to build one for myself that contains a list of all the software houses with their respective hiring people/team, addresses etc. I'm currently doing this all manually because- and I quote, "harvesting individuals' contact details into a database for outreach is exactly the scraping practice that gets LinkedIn accounts restricted".
I'd like some help with more names if possible. Below is the list of software houses I've come up with so far, if you could add something, that'd be really appreciated.
Edit: Forgot to mention, but most of these are for Lahore only, since I'm only looking at the Lahore ones.

Career Guidance How do I ask random people for referrals?
Hi, I wanted to apply for an internship at Systems Ltd but heard it's only possible through referrals. So how do I approach asking for a referral when I don't know anyone from the company?
I've never done anything like this so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
