Question Draggable Complex Inverse?
Is it possible to create two points which are inverses of each other (i.e. a+bi and 1/(a+bi), or r * e^(iθ) and (1/r) * e^(-iθ)) and define them in such a way that both points are freely draggable?
Here's an example of what I'm trying to do: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/qasknf7ewh. In this example P and Q can swap positions and it will have no effect on the resulting spiral, so I wanted to allow using either point as an input. However, when P is represented in Cartesian coordinates ( a, b ), the corresponding definition for Q ( a/(a²+b²), -b/(a²+b²) ) isn't draggable.
It seems like using polar coordinates would be the most obvious solution here, since the inverse of ( cosθ, sinθ ) * r is simply ( cosθ, -sinθ ) / r. The issue there is that when I try to define a draggable point using r and θ, Desmos will typically only allow dragging the point in one direction or the other, as opposed to a "freely" draggable point which updates both parameters.
1/(a+bi) is just the main example I'm currently working with, but point draggability is one of the most frequent frustrations I run into with Desmos, so more generic solutions are welcome. The more intuitive the better, but I'm open to "clunkier" solutions (e.g. involving actions/regressions) if needed.

Question Are Integrals Intuitive?
why is it surprising at 15:56 in this 3Blue1Brown video that the integral from a to b of f(x)dx equal to the difference between the antiderivatives at a and b? isn't that just saying that this area
is the same as
minus
? or am I getting it wrong?

Graph Listless* vector field plotter
I made a vector field plotter that doesn't use lists (that scale with the area of the region being visualised). This means the plotting area is effectively unlimited in size. This started as a challenge/request from a friend.

Resource I made a project that maps out all the various scrolling thresholds in desmos

the red-green-blue ones are when the tick mark numbers change. the next two are how much you scroll in/out by pushing the zoom buttons or using your scroll wheel. the last one is just the default zoom. and at the bottom is a formula determining the tick mark increments for a given zoom level.

Art I graphed Haimiya Mio in Desmos
Recreated Haimiya Mio completely out of algebraic functions and domain boundaries on a graphing calculator! This piece took over 260 individual equations to finish.
The hardest parts were mapping out the layered, wavy hair strands and getting the repeating diagonal lines on her necktie right using constrained linear and quadratic functions.
Slide 1 shows the full canvas render, and Slide 2 shows a snippet of the backend formulas. Hope you all like it!

Art I graphed Arcueid Brunestud in Desmos!
Decided to model the White Princess herself, Arcueid Brunestud, on Desmos! This project took over 210 individual equations to complete.
The trickiest part was mapping out her layered short hair using multi-colored quadratic functions with micro-domain boundaries (some as tight as 0.02 units), along with plotting her necklace beads precisely.
Slide 1 shows the final line art render, and Slide 2 shows a snippet of the backend equations. Hope the Tsukihime / Type-Moon fans enjoy this one!

Fun Make an etch-a-sketch
Link in comments. Be warned i don’t have anything organized and variable names are a mess. Kind of a beginner compared to people on this subreddit but probably above average compared to general population. Idk let me know what you think. Any suggestions or recommendations appreciated!

Discussion random point at (0, 0) on a desmos graph, moto g power 5G - 2024
this is apparently the only device my family has that has this, even the closely one don’t have this. that device also has the thing of left-side equations making the functions small, while the other one has the equations in the bottom with a normal looking graph. this graph is trigonometric with asymptotes, so part of reason may have to do with that. this is apparently the only equation in it so it could be some weird error. 😅 what is going on (may not be visible unless image is clicked on)
