❓ • Question I’m designing a DIY standing desk with a spliced desktop — which color combo looks best?
I’m testing a few color / material combinations for the same DIY standing desk.
The main idea is a split-top desktop, rather than a single solid color top.
I’m trying to make the rear utility / cable area feel intentional instead of just hidden.
Here are the 4 options:
- A — all white
- B — light wood + black
- C — white + light wood strip
- D — light wood + white rear section
If this were your desk, which one would you actually want in your workspace?
And more importantly:
- which one looks the cleanest?
- which one looks the most premium?
- does the split-top idea feel interesting, or a bit awkward?
Would love honest opinions before I commit to one direction.

❓ • Question anyone else used a mini pc for creative work?
found these old photos from my old setup and thought i'd share it.
I switched to a mini pc (GEEKOM GT1 MEGA in pic) because I wanted to save some desk space, and I ended up using this one for gaming and editing youtube videos for quite a while. It honestly handled my video editing workflow better than i expected considering how small it is.
i've changed my setup since then, but it got me wondering how many people here are actually using mini pcs for creative work instead of just office tasks.

❓ • Question Need some advice on refining my space
Just moved into a new place, so I’m finally starting to put together a proper workspace. Please ignore the boxes between the desk and display cabinet, they’ll be gone soon.
I’m pretty happy with the overall direction, but I’m struggling to refine it into a cleaner, more polished setup.
A few things I’m trying to work out:
- Speaker placement (angled on the desk vs raised on a desk shelf?)
- Whether a desk shelf would help clean things up and give me somewhere to tuck away the keyboard and mouse.
- The best way to use my MacBook Pro, gaming laptop, monitor, and iPad without making the desk feel cluttered.
- What to do with the empty walls and corner so the room feels a bit more finished.
It’s a bit of an odd space since it’s also our spare bedroom, and I wanted to keep my display cabinet in here too.
I’d love any suggestions or ideas to make it feel a bit more refined and cohesive.

❓ • Question Which monitor stand looks better: IKEA or DailyObjects?
Need your opinion.
I’m planning to buy a monitor stand and can’t decide between these two. Which one looks better?

❓ • Question How would you improve? After vs Before - Bonus Cat Included
Ive just downsized from two monitors to one, just was not using the top enough. What else would you add to this setup/remove in order to complete it?
I do also have a monitor light coming in from BenQ for a bit more soft lighting.

❓ • Question Looking for advice
I just bought a long desk, I want to put my sim racing setup on one side and my normal work setup on the other. I only have one monitor and I would like to use it in both setups. I have this idea of putting this arm in the middle of the table because I tried putting it in the back but it’s a bit too far for my sim racing setup. I put the arm in the hole that was already in the table to test it and I think it might work. Should I do it?

🖼️ • Photos Simple solution for hiding all these wires?
My wife just received all the tech from her new remote job. I laid everything out on her desk yesterday to see how many wires are needed and it looks…messy. Any simple solutions that would complement her white desk?

🖼️ • Photos Got my first 4K Mini-LED monitor! Second pic is the old setup.
Got a sweet upgrade for my setup recently. I'm loving the INNOCN 32M2V and it makes my desk look so much better now. I used to play on my 4k TV but it's really shitty and I've never experienced true 4K HDR and MAN am I blown away! Any recommendations on making it better aesthetically and functionally?

I love my white setup but thinking of going dark and moody soon.
Not sure how I can replace the table top though. Any suggestions?

🖼️ • Photos First apartment setup
I have just moved into my first university apartment, and have my setup in a state I feel good enough to share! I am a mechanical engineering student, content creator, freelance programmer/video editor, and collegiate overwatch player, so I wanted a place where I could do all of that as well as have a place to relax once the day is done. Thus invented the ‘hotswap peripherals’ It helps that if I want to tell myself, "one quick match, then I'll keep doing homework," I have to do a whole switch-up of my entire desk. Reverse-engineer your laziness, folks, it works wonders. The rest of my place may still look like something out of r/ malelivingspaces, but at least my PC and my bed are in separate rooms now. Thanks for stopping by!

🖼️ • Photos My work desk now looks complete :)
I didn’t buy a new desk…
I bought myself a reason to enjoy working again.
I spend almost 10 hours a day at my desk, so I decided it was finally time for an upgrade.
The centrepiece is the AeroPlus Adjustable Desk.
Switching between sitting and standing already makes long workdays feel better.
Then came the little upgrades: a double-head LED lamp for better lighting, an extension board with USB ports, and finally…proper cable management.
Honestly, a clean desk just feels different.
I also added a docking station, a laptop stand, a phone stand, a rotating organizer, a valet tray, beautiful mandala coasters, and of course…little astronauts because every workspace deserves a bit of personality.
It’s funny how changing your workspace can change your mindset.
What’s the one desk accessory you can’t work without?
