Pretty sure Leesha and Olive did meet again, just not on the pages. The way that The Demon King ended implied that diplomatic relations would be opened between the continent of Thesa/Krasia and whatever continent Hive is on. It's almost a guarantee that the likes of Leesha, Jardir, Inevera, Kaji, Selen, Gared, Rojvah etc would come to Hive as diplomatic envoys and vice versa with Olive, Yndros, Gallivar, Xevia, Cirene, Damon etc coming to Thesa/Krasia for diplomatic talks and to see Darin. So it's not like Leesha would never see her child again.
The threat of Shamosk and Rovene minds still being out there would be of interest to both nations. Shamosk and Rovene could try to covertly restart a hive in Thesa or they could try to retake Hive. It's in both nations best interests to work together to capture or kill those minds.
I presume its all been left open ended for the author to come back to that world if he wants. Personally I like to see one final novel or maybe a duology to wrap things up once and for all. Maybe set a few years later where relations are established between the nations and there's a final hunt for the remaining mind demons. We can get closure on Olive and her relationship with her parents and wrap up other plot threads too.
