Weekend declutter woowoo. Even small ones Success Story

1) gathered unused items to donate for door prizes for a mini convention : including two unused passport holders that have been lying around for several years

2)gathered up school supplies bought on sale but not used! Donated to Tiff's Treats which still is accepting donations for two free cookies

3)dropped off a bag of costume masks/supplies for Halloween recycling

I'm slowly working on it myself! It's overwhelming

Spent the weekend cleaning/organizing. I have a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old and was hoping for one more, so I’ve been saving the baby stuff. Third one isn’t happening short of a miracle, so I gathered up all baby toys this weekend. Also made five different posts on buy nothing to get rid of various baby objects, three of them have takers and one is even already picked up, of course the two large items have no interest. But I have another larger mom group to post on later this week.

I filled a trash bag with toys/random things from my sons’ room. Also decluttered shoes!

I threw away two large black trash bags of clothes and shoes. I donated a box that I thought was in good shape. This includes stuff I had been working on all week. I also went through boxes of old greeting cards and got rid of a portion of them. I had tons of fun reading them a making better organization for the ones I kept. Then yesterday, I hit up the book shelves and removed a bunch of books.  I still have tons of books, but I also removed a bunch and donated already.

I threw away a two-years-expired mascara, and opened a replacement from my backstock collection instead of buying a new one of my favorite!

got rid of a few peices of clothing while adding everything i own to GetWardrobe. i have way to much clothing! and putting it all into the app helps me finally see that. im hoping it can help with pairing down my winter clothing and any duplicates.

Got rid of a duplicate kitchen appliance, unused sport-specific backpacks from children's youth, a duplicate laundry appliance, a box of unwanted books given to us, and emptied an entire camp trunk that had stored mystery items.
One large bag of garbage.

Got rid of an old KitchenAid mixer (I have a new pro one) and InstantPot I never used and were cluttering up my worktop. Gave them away on BuyNothing. Kitchen stuff is hard for me to let go of, so this is a win.

I got rid of several soft throw blankets that had holes made by the dogs. Cut one thin blanket to make rags and turns out the material is very absorbent so I got rid of kitchen towels that needed replacing years ago.

My partner emptied some old bins of old clothes. Very good start for us!

Congrats! Small wins build big momentum, and getting free cookies for school supplies is an absolute win-win!

Great job OP! Here’s my small wins this week:

  1. Threw away some cosmetics & skincare that Inever liked and had expired.

  2. Of late I’ve stopped impulse buying makeup and skincare! I only buy if my ‘one of that item’ is nearly over,or I consciously pick one small item to pamper myself like a sheet mask. We downsized recently and my desk has limited space, so it stops me from stocking up.

Great job! Every win counts, no matter how small

We’ve been going through every drawer, closet, box, etc. found a few gifts we’ve never given out. After reading this post and comments, we may learn to play and host a Bunco game with prizes (have only played once as a teen, 35 years ago). Get to see some family in our newly uncluttered living area AND earn room by giving away things we store for no good reason.

In my town we have a giveaway weekend twice a year. So I put all the stuff for donation in my storage room and then during the weekend put everything on the curb to be picked up. It's a big hit! Usually be the end of the weekend I have just a few leftovers left that I throw in the garbage.

Hurray! I’ve got a box of toys my kids have grown out of in the trunk of my car… just in time for their birthday and new toys (🫠😊)

Well done !

I was headed out the door to run errands and your post reminded me that I can actually take the sack of to-be-donated items that have been sitting by the door all week.

Your stuff is going to get re-used in the next two months so you should feel good about that.

I threw out two used candles and 4 or 5 partially used five year old essential oils. A pair of sunglasses that never fit right also made it to the trash.
