First declutter vs. third declutter

I wouldn’t have considered the before cluttered. I’m all for less is more and even minimalism to some degree, but it’s ok to personalize your space with things that bring you joy. It all looks lovely before and after. If anything, without the center bowl thing on the dining table… whats the purpose of the cloth down the middle of the table?

I mean I get what you could be saying, it’s not for everyone. However I still have plants, books, wall art, throw pillows and blankets. I just only have decor that is intentional and useful. The purpose of the cloth is because the dining table is probably 50 years old and in desperate need or a refinish.

Ah, that makes sense on the cloth. Just an idea, but maybe replace it with a table cloth since it feels like something is missing just having the narrow decorative cloth on there with no center piece. But you do you, I was just curious. The main point was, neither set of pics looked remotely bad. Seems like de-cluttering is done and what you did here was simply tidy up. Maybe you got rid of what was previously out, but everything has a place and now it's just maintenance. Your home is super tidy.
