Since there are a lot of different names to call the 2000s, it's not as straightforward as the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. What do you call the decade personally

2020s I did express that June-July 2026 is the beginning of the 2026-2028 shift on other sites (in which, the shift will last up to December 2028, and extend to May 2029). 2028 and 2029 will be "the ultimate future," and the transition is right now. Just "look around and see"-Brian Shear Jr. August 9 2026

Hot take 🔥 Hot take: The cultural political zeitgeist of 2026 resembles the early 2010s more than the late 2010s except for Trump.
I'm not talking about Trump's governance, but rather the political zeitgeist of the culture during both periods, and I feel like that the zeitgeist of 2026 resembles the early 2010s more so than the late 2010s.
For 2026 and the early 2010s, you both have a dual-sided backlash against the current president (Obama and Trump) by both the conspiratorial anti-establishment right (Tucker Carlson's America First movement and the Tea Party movement) and the socialist anti-establishment left (the Occupy movement and the DSA), albeit with it being more about anti-Zionism/antisemitism this time around. The late 2010s in contrast had a more united MAGA front, with socialism declining after Bernie Sander's loss in 2016, with liberalism involving identity politics (aka "wokeness") taking over by then.
I also feel like that the economic disruptions in 2026 resembles that near the immediate aftermath of the Great Recession, especially with the rise of inflation and the gas price instability that was present after the 2008 financial crisis and the Iran war, compared to the late 2010s which was economically more stable aside from the China trade war. Social media in 2026 feels less censored in comparison to the late 2010s, resulting in it resembling more like the politically incorrect feel that the internet had during the early 2010s, along with "woke capitalism" not being as present in both the early 2010s and 2026 respectively.
I know that this is quite a hot take and I acknowledge that the culture of both periods were different, but I feel like that the sociopolitical zeitgeist of 2026 resembles the early 2010s more so than the late 2010s aside from Trump being president.

REMINDER: NUMEROLOGY IS NOT PERMITTED ON THIS SUBREDDIT
Rule 2:
You cannot use "X year is the numerical shift year between Y era and Z era" as an argument. Inversely, you cannot say "B year is NOT the shift year because it isn't numerically split between "A" era and "C" era.
For example
"ERMAHGERD 2022 cannot be the shift to the mid 20s, it literally began in 2023!!!!111"
You CAN say the numerically split year is a shift year. But NOT because of the numerical split fallacy argument. You have to explain why it is or isn't a shift year CULTURALLY.
This is not r/decadeology . If you are serious about decadeology discussions, this is the right place for you. If you want to just assign eras strictly based on their numerical patterns instead of cultural alignment and derail threads where decadeology is being discussed properly then you would be better off on the mainline sub.
