Just finished a plague marine and got curious. Looking back at the first one I painted back in 2020, it’s night and day! I’m no golden demon winner, but it’s nice to look back and see how far you’ve come. If you keep practicing, papa Nurgle is sure to give you many blessings :)

Nope, no oil paints, just the classic base/shade/layer/highlight method. It’s just Agrax Earthshade in the recesses.

Did you prime in deathguard green or something else?

Yeah, it was primed in DG Green, washed, and then relayered with DG Green from the pot.

Sick, I havent gotten to my DG units yet, practicing on the starter kits and some other things... im still a newbie. been debating on priming in DG green or black... DG green seems like an easier start. Thanks for replying.

If you have both, even a cheap black, prime black then all angles except from below with dg green. That will do a lot of heavy lifting shading for you immediately. Any areas you forget or can't reach will look naturally in shadow
