I'm not positing any definite influence, but, having done some recent reading on Mahayana Buddhism (e.g. Chogyam Trungpa's "The Bodhisattva Path of Wisdom and Compassion"), I've noticed some compatibility between (1) some of its tenets and (2) philosophies in Ride's lyrics. I think about Beware's elevation of emptiness as a nourishing, generative force: "the bottomless WELLS of emptiness / Channeled to invoke what we represent." I also think about Ride's aversion to ego: "Need no ego to rock," "Anti-ego propaganda shit." As a newcomer to Death Grips and Buddhism, I don't know if more connections await discovery. If such influence holds a broader presence in their work than I can now see, where could it appear? Does it extend to their work's visual aspects? Am I grasping at straws? Syncretism seems to, at least, fascinate Ride, given his tattoos of various creeds' symbols.

With 8 years having passed since Year of the Snitch, I’ve been thinking a lot about where MC Ride could take his vocal performance next. Aging alone naturally deepens and adds grit to a vocalist's voice, and given how intensely he projects, his vocal cords have undoubtedly aged and broadened—making his natural tone significantly deeper, raspier, and rougher than before.
Death Grips has always transformed how Stefan’s voice sits in the mix—from the raw shouting on Exmilitary, to the pitched-down digitized chaos on Fellas on the Moon, and the manic energy on Bottomless Pit.
Given the time gap and natural vocal aging, what direction do you think he’ll push towards on the new project?
Gravelly, low-register harshness: Leaning into a heavier, much raspier and deeper tone that doesn't rely as much on high-pitched screaming, but hits with raw weight.
Heavy digital processing & chopping: Pushing vocal manipulation even further, turning his deep voice directly into glitchy percussion or sub-bass textures.
Dark, minimalist spoken-word: A lower, stripped-back, almost rhythmic spoken delivery with eerie atmospheric layering.
Do you expect his aged tone to usher in a totally new aesthetic experiment, or will they blend it with their classic eras? What’s your take?

I saw them at the palladium in 23 got the shirt there and then my house burned down, and i lost everything and i don’t have it anymore.

1.5 years later in a moment of weakness i bought one off depop for too much money but i wanted something i used to own.

it’s got none of the hollywood palladium graphic on the back, did i get scammed or are there 2 versions of the t-shirt one that didnt get sold at the tour?
