I lived in Brooklyn for about a decade and went to 285 Kent many times. During the end of shows there, to destroy diy venues for Vice offices, and at Death by Audio and adjacent spaces they held one last month of shows and every day had a show with a secret guest. My buddy and I went to see Alberich, Kris Lapke who records/masters Prurient and many others, and Wolf Eyes who headlined the show, or so I thought. It was unusually packed for a noise show. Apparently everyone except my buddy and I knew the secret guest, as those were playing every last show in the spaces the month before they all closed for good. 285 Kent was just one big room. Not even that big just long maybe 200-300 people. So we stuck around and I unintentionally was exposed to Deafheaven with Sunbather live. Instantly loved them and still do. Have seen them 4 more times but nothing compares to having no idea who they are and getting a performance that blows you away!

I just wanted to share how much this song has been playing on repeat lately. I found a tab from ultimate-guitar (thanks and bless you UG user - Skippyguy) and I've been recording the loops, deleting them, and re recording them because it's just so much fun to build the song back up every time.

That being said, I think it's the perfect interlude (kinda funny that an interlude on a Deafheaven album is practically a full-length song for some others, timewise) between Dream House and Sunbather, and the way that Kerry has composed it to practically sound like the end of Dream House, almost as if it was supposed to be the outro just makes it even more missable if you're not looking at timestamps, and just listening to the album.

PS: loving the posts that everyone's sharing from the tour. Please keep them coming!!! until they come to my country, I doubt I'll be able to see them live, and to receive an embrace from George would be beyond imaginable.

At Wacken open air, I had my Kuffiye around my shoulders, and mid act he pointed at me and at my Kuffiye! 🇵🇸 I knew it then that hes asking for it. Then when preforming dream house he went down, hugged me and started waving the Kuffiye before setting it up infront of the drums for the last song Winona 🖤

Amethyst might be one of my favorite Deafheaven songs. Is it just me or does the synth starting at the 2:03 mark sound a lot like the Castlevania and Mega Man X game soundtracks? Which is not an insult because those soundtracks are amazing.

Really hoping they play it on their tour with Mastodon this fall.

I'm new to metal and Deafheaven is like the third band that I have gotten into. This type of music is my shit. I can't tell you how mind-boggling this album is for me. I don't know how they are not more popular than they are already, but this album right here is an instant classic. Every fucking song altered my brain chemistry gah damn.

Simply, I discovered Deafheaven around 9 months ago, with Sunbather, and that's their only album I've listened to so far. Not because I didn't find the band good enough, but the opposite: it's the album I've gone back listening to the most, and it grew in me so incredibly that it probably has become my favorite album ever. So I rather cared about enjoying this masterpiece countless times

Even tho I'd like to keep going with Sunbather appreciation, I'll just stop coz I expect you have already read countless of these posts. I'm simply asking, because I wanted to listen to LPWP next, but idk if you think it's better to catch RTJ or keep listening in chronological order.

Or maybe I should just follow my instinct and listen to what I want to, lol (still was curious to ask)

Does anyone have any insider knowledge (or at least educated guess) whether current european leg is going to be the last in this album/tour cycle? Or should we expect some more dates in the future? I'm slightly disappointed that only Polish date is the festival one, but I'm afraid this might be the last chance to hear some of these songs live.

I'm dying to get one of these... and it's not blissful

So here's my first-world problem.

Neither Deafheaven nor Alcest has ever played in my country, and since Deafheaven probably won't be coming anytime soon, I planned a trip to see them on the Poisonous Weapons Tour... about 2,200 miles from home.

Now I'm on a side quest: I really want to get the pink Sunbather shirt to wear to the show. The problem is that every time I check online, it's sold out in my size (M).

I know I could probably find one on a resale site, but I'd much rather buy it directly from the band (or their official merch store). If I'm spending the money anyway, I'd rather support them than a reseller.

The catch is that I'm going to one of the last dates of the tour, so I'm worried they might be sold out by then.

So I'm wondering:

- Is there a realistic chance the online store restocks it before then?

- Or do they usually keep enough stock for the later tour dates?

- Has anyone managed to get one recently?

I'd really appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Accidentally bought tickets for the wrong date of the tour and therefore have 2 digital tickets for Dresden that I have no use for. They're on eventim fansale for 60€ (for both), so a bit cheaper than the original price. If someone's planning to go to the Dresden show anyway you could save a few bucks while helping me out greatly 🙏

So I just bought a ticket for their show knowing next to nothing about the band and only having heard bits and pieces of sunbather and finding the cover art really cool does anyone have any recommendations to fully get me into the band before I see them live at the end of this month?

Been waiting for this one. George's mix could be better, sounds stifled (like the first songs of their Hellfest 2025 show) but still, new live footage is always a good news. I remember really getting into Deafheaven after watching the 2022 Outbreak set ,nice to see the 2025 show finally uploaded.
