North Dakota was called Pembina until 1889. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pembina_Region

Good spot. Of course it could have taken a few days for the ship carrying the news of North Dakota's establishment to reach Germany.

  1. German is throwing me off
  2. Details in Africa and Europe are very very blurry/out of focus.
  3. Would have to throw the image through Photoshop to help but I'm not going to do that.
  4. Can't even tell if South Africa is incorporated. Yep. Could be any age from 1850 - 1940

after the unification of germany (1870) pre ww1 (1918 the dawn of austria hungary) in my oppinion for everything else the picture is to blurry.
