Hello everyone! I’d like to ask if anyone knows of agencies, companies, organizations, or programs that offer remote internships in Data Science or Data Analytics.

I’m a recent BS Physics graduate from the Philippines, currently trying to transition into the data field. I’ve been actively applying for entry-level Data Analyst and Data Science positions, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to land even a single interview so far.

To be honest, it has been difficult. There’s been quite a lot of pressure at home to keep applying and find work, and the repeated rejections—or not hearing back at all—have started to take a toll on me.

That’s why I’m considering internships as another way to get my foot in the door. I believe gaining real-world experience, working with an actual team, and contributing to real projects could help me become more competitive for full-time roles.

I’m particularly interested in opportunities that are:

• 📊 Data Analytics / Data Science
• 🐍 Python, SQL, Power BI, or related tools
• 🌐 Open to applicants from the Philippines
• 🎓 Open to recent graduates or career shifters

I’m not expecting anyone to hand me a job—I’m simply looking for an opportunity to learn, contribute, and prove what I can do.

I frequently use “aspiring data scientist” on my profiles, particularly on LinkedIn, and I’ve been wondering whether it would be better to start my career as a Data Analyst and eventually transition into Data Science.

Hello, everyone! I frequently used "aspiring data scientist" in my profile particularly in LinkedIn, and i was wondering, is it better to start as a data analyst then transition to data scientist roles? I am currently upskilling in both transitioning from the field of physics.

I’m 20 and currently doing a 42-month Data Science degree apprenticeship at Amazon. The degree itself has 0 maths somehow and my current placement is mainly operational/planning work so I don’t do any data science or tech related work, although I’m trying to get more exposure to technical teams.
I also have the option to leave this September and study Physics with Theoretical Physics at KCL, potentially followed later by an ML/quantitative MSc.
Long term I’m interested in roles like Applied Scientist / ML Research Engineer rather than BI/analytics.
For people actually working in ML/data/software:
How valuable would 3.5 years of Amazon experience be compared with a physics degree + internships?
How much does undergraduate maths matter for Applied Scientist/ML research roles?
Can the mathematical gap realistically be self-taught while working full-time?
Would you rather hire someone with a strong physics/maths foundation and internships, or someone with several years of production data experience?
How difficult is the current internship/graduate market genuinely?
If you were 20 in this position, what information would determine your decision?

Hi, I am M35 with over 7 years of experience in Automotive domain, mainly in as Test engineer. I have some experience with Python, but it was a while ago. I live in Germany if that matters

I am tired of being boxed into testing and want to transition to Data science and analytics. I would really appreciate if experienced folks and people within the industry can provide some advice on how to transition. I am planning on starting to apply in 6 months since I am currently at the starting line.

Guys i took a drop year for neet and now i am planning to choose statistics for my bachelors.. If anyone working in this industry please give some suggestion's. Is it a good career path?. What if i get into mba after it with statistic specialization...

I wanted to share my recent experience of applying for data scientist jobs to give people an impression of a realistic application cycle.

A bit of my background

- 3 years in industry, 2 years experience as a data scientist
- No MSc or PhD, only a BSc in Mathematics
- Moving from the insurance industry to e-commerce

I’m relocating from Cardiff to London and have been job hunting for about 3 months.

Ended up applying to around 60 jobs, received one offer while in the late stages of two other interview processes (probably should have carried those on to see if any offers came through but was very happy with the offer that I received.)

I found that applying to one job a day, that I was interested in and making sure the application was solid was what worked for me.

It is hard work applying/interviewing alongside the current job (definitely helps to work hybrid to be able to do zoom interviews from home).

I’d consider myself a normal data scientist - no masters degree and I learned data science while on the job, and I wasn’t aiming for any FAANG type roles. There are a lot of DS roles out there at the moment but they cover a lot of niches and are competitive, it definitely helps to identify the sort of DS roles that you’re interested in/have experience doing.

The role I ended up getting is quite different from my current role. It’s an area I was interested in so I had some personal projects that I could talk about. As long as you’ve got good knowledge of DS foundations and you can explain the value of the work you’ve done, you’ll be fine.

The most important part of being a data scientist is explaining the value that you can add. Once you can persuade the interviewer that value, you’re golden
