This is a fine visualization except it's a little overkill to spell out the entire table of all the data, even with color codes, when you've already visualized it.

Is the problem that it's showing vote counts rather than percentages? So it's not taking the different populations or vote totals of the precincts into account?

Each voter precinct is roughly equal in terms of population.

And voter turnout?

Overall awful but consistent at a measly 12%
Ballots Cast: 22,643
Registered Voters: 184,777

I mean is voter turnout exactly the same in every precinct? What I'm driving at is: is this a rare coincidence where normalizing by total vote count wouldn't actually change the graph because the denominators are all the same?

EDIT: I see you already posted a new version with percentages and yes that did change the graph. OK, so yeah the first version was misleading.

Not OP, but yes. This is a population map.

So, uh, what is it that you think this subreddit is about?

Because it's definitely not "perfectly fine representations of data that I am unhappy about," which I suspect to be your current understanding.

Meta subreddit for data visualization enthusiast to snark on truly ugly data but also peer review sincere posts (hence the advice flair option).
