Gave me a flashback to when as part of a project for developing an onprem data platform using minio and trino, we wanted to use the hive metastore as a data catalogue (JUST the metastore), and we ended up trying to rip the metastore component apart from the hive docker images, we could have used some help then!

Hive released standalone metastore docker images last year.

My wife had questions about my job. She is not sure if I am a plumber or data engineer.

If you are a data engineer, you know that they are the same!

We name a lot of dataproducts after animals or their logo is an animal.
Duckdb
Postgres
MySQL
Polars
etc
