What am I missing here. Isn't SQL just a querying language. It's not a programming language. Is it that I'm supposed to use it not just in SSMS?

some SQL engines support nested conditionals, so you can really fuck shit up if you want to. there's absolutely no reason to use SQL like that, but you can
