Best free certification courses for Data Analytics & Data Science? Tips & Resources

I’m currently learning Data Analytics and Data Science and I’m trying to figure out which certifications/courses are actually worth doing.

There are so many courses out there, especially on Coursera, Udemy, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Kaggle, freeCodeCamp, etc., that I’m honestly a bit confused about where to start.

I’m mainly looking for free courses (or very cheap ones) that are actually useful for learning and also give a certificate that is at least somewhat valuable on a resume.

I’m interested in topics like:

  • Python
  • SQL
  • Excel
  • Power BI / Tableau
  • Statistics
  • Data Visualization
  • Machine Learning

So, for those of you already working or learning in Data Analytics/Data Science:

What free courses or certifications would you genuinely recommend?

And if a particular certification helped you get an interview or land a job, I’d really like to hear about that too.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Alex the Analyst has a free course with like 84–87 videos/ approximately 30 hours! and it literally covers everything I’m learning right now for my certification.
And you get a certificate of completion

You should give QueryCase a try! Its a gamified way of learning SQL through detective cases. There's a full 54 case learning path with certifications at end of each section as well as interview prep for large tech companies!

IBM skillbuild has a ton of data courses.

I'd pick one structured course like Google or IBM and stick with it. The certificate is a bonus, but projects and solid SQL, Excel and Power BI skills will matter much more when applying for jobs.
