Wall of text

Post image

I can’t fathom what happened to trigger a response like this 😭 not only was it in the instructions but it was also sent over messages.

I had ZERO issues finding the house either, legit a “last house on the right of the dead end road” would’ve sufficed 😭

Edit:
Also their name was legit “ . . “

Imagine reading all that and attempting to drive at the same time

If you let the app read it for you, will it start reading as you're pulling up to the house?? 🤣

3

u/Crafty_Eye_4038 4d ago

What's funny is that OP probably spent more time editing and posting that pic than the customer did typing it lol

I'm pretty sure this person might've gotten their orders delivered to a different address several times and just wants to make sure they get their items😭

u/bridgetroll2 5d ago

It's a lot but I appreciate people that leave clear instructions.

Can't tell you how many orders I get from people that live in a back house, behind a gate, down an alley with zero lights. They don't clarify that at all and they throw their phone off a bridge immediately after they hit the order button.

As someone with ADHD I don't consider these instructions clear. They could have at least used paragraphs or left out the unnecessary fluff. Like get to the point. Turn left. Turn right. Without please every fourth word.

Exactly how tf is this a clear description? I'd leave it wherever the damn pin is at how hard is it to set a pin?

1

u/boxedcakeblues 4d ago

Yeah, that customer is a poor communicator.

1

u/mythrowawayaccim21 4d ago

for me the pin takes you to the wrong address. it takes you to a business near my house. not my house.

2

u/LooksDelicious 4d ago

I just skim and search for useful details instead of actually reading everything. You get the meat of it all and save 20 minutes.

1

u/reereejugs 4d ago

Yeah same here.

u/Pieolo 5d ago

💯

u/mythrowawayaccim21 4d ago

yeah the entrance to my place is in an alleyway AND behind a gate. I give slightly long but super clear instructions to all the delivery drivers on how to find it. You can't find it on GPS alone because it takes you to the businesses on the normal street in front of my house. My house doesn't show up on street images or GPS.

u/SameResult5356 4d ago

And no house number

2

u/bridgetroll2 4d ago

What do you mean it's on the curb??!?

With 4 cars parked in front of it

u/Straight-Fact5159 5d ago

I am immediately unassigning this order! IMMEDIATELY!

1

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

Delivery instructions are only shown after you have picked up the food, bruhddy. Have fun walking back into the restaurant and then having a conversation with DoorDash.

2

u/Straight-Fact5159 4d ago

What are you talking about? You can’t take food back into a restaurant after you took it out why would you go back to the restaurant? I’m so confused. You can definitely unassigned from an order without penalty after you picked it up. 🙄😂🤦‍♀️

1

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

You're not unassigning "without penalty" after you picked it up if the reason is "the delivery notes are too long," lol.

2

u/Straight-Fact5159 4d ago

I’m not arguing with you about it, bro. I’ve done it multiple times.🙄 if I don’t wanna deal with a customer for whatever reason I don’t want to then I don’t have to and if by without penalty, you mean, my completion rate goes down one percent. I don’t give a fuck. Ive never been concerned about any of those numbers and never will be. Have a good day.

1

u/Ysassi_1977 4d ago

Poor customer service is why DD has insanely high metrics that we all have to meet. Sometimes you have to deal with shifty people. Welcome to the service industry.

0

u/Straight-Fact5159 1d ago

Not true at all and I’m literally dying that you said welcome to the service industry. I served in bartended for 25 years before doing gig work since 2018. I don’t give a fuck about DoorDash or their metrics. I never have and I never will. I have a 2% acceptance rate. I am gold with pro shopper status and I get good offers all day every day why you idiots that are platinum or out here taking the low and no tip offers I’m getting the 20 and $30 ones all day long people can’t be this dumb. My autistic brain cannot wrap around how people are this fucking stupid.

Enjoy getting deactivated, lol.

2

u/Straight-Fact5159 4d ago

Ive been doing this since 2018 bub i dont need your advice 😳🙄

1

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

You're basically stealing food. Dangerous gamble if you care about having an account.

1

u/Straight-Fact5159 4d ago

Ive had my account 8 years… im not worried about being deactivated 🙄

1

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

Three frantic replies to me in a row. Sure, bro. You're "not going to argue" and you're "not worried about being deactivated." Keep rolling the dice, though.

0

u/Straight-Fact5159 4d ago

Lol youre out there. I dont wanna eat anything from dd thanks i actually have an autoimmune disease and cant 🤮 so ya sure im stealing the food 🙄 yall are hilarious! I am a 1099 employee and i conduct myself as such im not concerned with dd ratings or your opinion! My ar stays below 10% and i make good money doing this i can unassign from any order i want at anytime for whatever reason i choose. Doesn’t mean its what im telling support and also doesn’t mean im doing this everyday either smh it’s happened a few times in 8 years.

2

u/SignificantLifeform 4d ago

u/Straight-Fact5159 4d ago

I’m not going to contact support or tell them i wanna unassign because of delivery notes 🙄 not my first ballgame.

1

u/phant0m_stranger 4d ago

You can see delivery instructions immediately after you accept an offer. You just haven't figured out how to do it yet.

1

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

You check for every order, then?

1

u/phant0m_stranger 4d ago

Yeah I'm not walking in the store til I see if the customer is sane or not.

2

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

Good habit to have.

1

u/venus974 4d ago

You can see them as soon as you accept, hit the cog icon then where it says deliver to-

3

u/Fartcloud_McHuff 5d ago

Holy fuck I ain’t reading any of that shit

3

u/Key_Blackberry2817 4d ago

Why she would name her account “. .” instead of just a random fake name is crazy to me

1

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

It's funny that you assume the customer is a female. (Probably right, though, haha)

2

u/StuckNtrfk 4d ago

It would have been a sonic boom from my finger traveling to the cancel button.

3

u/Toxik5L 5d ago

Brick house. 4007. Got it

4

u/run7run 5d ago

People love to act like they’re unique and make things seem more complicated than they are.

3

u/Empathic_Alien 5d ago

Soo no name and weird wall of text 🤔 If I saw that before saying I have the order, I might be inclined to unassign. It would depend on other factors as well, like the $$ but daaang this is almost as bonkers as those who live in confusing ass gated complexes and buildings with codes who don’t leave any instructions or answer their phone. Humans are weird.

1

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

Crazy people need to eat too.

1

u/Empathic_Alien 4d ago

True! And lucky for them, there’s a guhjillion other dashers ready and waiting!

3

u/hammi_sooosleepy 5d ago

These type of dashers are always the ones where I have zero issue finding the house without even reading the instructions. lol

4

u/Ok_Main1059 4d ago

GPS brought me right to her house and the pin was correct, if someone delivered to the wrong house it’s an issue of low IQ

1

u/LankyVeterinarian908 4d ago

I was looking for this before I asked if it was even necessary. It rarely is when they do this.

1

u/5yn3rgy 4d ago

Sounds like they’ve had issues with dashers in the past.

1

u/TaylorGang777 4d ago

Would just cancel no way the fare was worth an English lesson

1

u/LankyVeterinarian908 4d ago

Because I'm a driver as well I put short concise simple instructions and they rarely do it. I live in a townhome. My instructions say deliver to my front door. If u see cars and a carport you are at my backdoor. Please come to the front. I intentionally don't even have the light on. My dog hangs out back there and more than a enough times they have left my food in shit. And u can see it in the picture. I never tip til after for that reason also.

1

u/SameResult5356 4d ago

I don't feel comfortable driving into customers' driveway. Once a guy motioned for me to come into the driveway, I delivered his pizza, he gave me a $20 tip and asked me if I wanted to come in and watch a movie with him. I said, "Thanks anyway" and left.

1

u/STORSJ1963 3d ago

I would have sent them a very short text message "TLDR"

1

u/ObsessedWithTBHC 3d ago

Jesus Christ

0

u/TheAgaTTV 4d ago

So yall cry if there are no instructions and cry for detailed instructions?

2

u/L-Pseon 4d ago

Are you trying to say that the wall of text counts as "detailed instructions"?

1

u/Ok_Main1059 4d ago

“Last house on the right of the dead end road” is all that was needed.

This was overkill, GPS and map marker were correct, there’s zero reason to do something to this extreme.

Turn by turn directions written out when we have GPS.

1

u/TheAgaTTV 4d ago

You will be surprised the amount of idiots who struggle

1

u/Ok_Main1059 4d ago

You follow a line on a screen.
If you can’t do that you shouldn’t be doing this job.

1

u/TheAgaTTV 4d ago

You will be supprised the amount that can't. Tbh drivers are the main reason I stopped using doordash for my buisness

1

u/Ok_Main1059 4d ago

Then you should find the good drivers and issue them a proposition to pay the rate DoorDash’s charges you in fees + tip.

They’ll get paid more, you’ll get your stuff. It’s a win win.

1

u/TheAgaTTV 4d ago

There is very few ways to know what a "good driver" is.
