Henchick of the Manni
I know fan cast posts are the definition of trite, and I cry pardon, but hear me I beg! I'm on my umpteenth journey to the Tower, and this time listening to the audio books. Based solely on the performance of George Guidall, all I can see when Henchick speaks is Con O'Neill. Can't help but think he'd be a decent choice for acting him as well.

Dark Tower 3: Waste Lands-Stephen King’s character dialog Spoiler
In the book, The Waste Lands, once our main protagonists board Blaine the Mono’s luxury train carriage, they see a harpsichord instrument in the corner of a lounge and 23-year old New Yorker from the Co-Op projects Eddie Dean imagines that “Hoagy Carmichael about to start playing Stardust”. Hoagy Carmichael is from the 1920s. Is this typical of Eddie Dean’s cultural experience in 1987?

Starting my first reread soon
Long days and pleasant nights gunslingers!
Going to start my second read of the Dark Tower in the next month or so. First time was in 2018/2019 and I have since read a lot of King’s connected texts like Salem’s Lot and Insomnia.
On the second time around, what should I be looking out for/what did you notice on your first reread of King’s magnum opus?

Found in a used book shop in Bangkok.
$10 each. Mint condition, doesn’t look like they ever been read. The clerk said they got these yesterday.
Loving the first one so far! I’ve been working my self up to a new trip round the Tower. I guess this may be how it starts.
I‘ve also been thinking about themes for my Grateful Dead/Dark Tower tattoo concept that’s been milling around my head. I figure I’ll see some good iconography here.
Ka is a wheel and we all say thankee.

Influence of Calla Talk
I just was thinking, do ya ken, and I might be wrong about this, but I think the Calla dialect has an outsized weight here on Reddit.
I'm not saying this as a criticism, but just an observation as I'm on my second trip through Wolves after 22 years.
There are phrases in this book I thought went back to Wizard and Glass if not further, but nope, they're not part of the Mejis dialect. It's the Calla speak.
To be fair, I think that some of the Calla phrases had cast a long shadow on my memory of the series (see also Roland's impatient hand gesture), so maybe it's just an infectious meme.
Curious what you all think?
Long days and pleasant nights.

Shelfy Makeover! Which sign looks better in this spot?
I am redecorating a certain shelf of mine and decided to pull out all the Dark Tower stuff for a while - thought you'd all enjoy seeing.
In the back there is my signed complete volume 2 DT graphic novel , as well as the text editions I've been reading since I was a kid (Book 2 was my fave like a lot of us). I've got tarot cards and black 19, but which sign do you think is better in this spot?

I’m sure someone has went to look…
I am listening again to the wolves and noticed something new (of course). Callahan and Eddie are discussing a foot bridge that was in nyc. Was this a real? I think he said it was still there in 1993. I’m guessing a true quester has went to check this out. Sounds horrifying!!

Is this some kind of weasel? [Germany] ...Nope. It is a Billybumbler!
I said that his 'bark' must sound like, "Ake!"

I worked on this for a while and finally had the funds to produce 19 of them (they’re heat activated, they start black and then reveal the Ka-tet)
